Comment Counter Code Available!

Good morning! I'm so excited that my programmer husband, Tom, made the COMMENT COUNTER gadget now work with the updated blogger stuff. Yeah! Thanks, Tom!  You guys are welcome to copy and paste the code below as an HTML gadget to your Layout if you would like your comments to be numbered.

IMPORTANT: You MUST choose the EMBEDDED option in SETTINGS for COMMENTS.  This numbering system will NOT work with pop-up comments.

Find step-by-step photos below. :)

ENJOY! This code is FREE if you'd like to use it. :)

<style type="text/css">
.commentNumber {
border: 0px solid Black;
padding-right:5px;
display: inline;
color: #6FA8DC;
font-weight: bold;
}
</style>
<script type="text/javascript">
function getElementsByClassName2(className, tag, elm){
 var testClass = new RegExp("(^|\\s)" + className + "(\\s|$)");
 var tag = tag || "*";
 var elm = elm || document;
 var elements = (tag == "*" && elm.all)? elm.all : elm.getElementsByTagName(tag);
 var returnElements = [];
 var current;
 var length = elements.length;
 for(var i=0; i<length; i++){
  current = elements[i];
  if(testClass.test(current.className)){
   returnElements.push(current);
  }
 }
 return returnElements;
}
function addCounters()
{
       var numBox, i, j;

       var topComments = getElementsByClassName2("comment-thread")[0].firstChild.children;
       for (i = 0, j = topComments.length; i < j; i++)
       {
               var commentBlock = getElementsByClassName2("comment-block", "*", topComments[i])[0];
               numBox = document.createElement("span");
               numBox.className = "commentNumber";
               numBox.appendChild(document.createTextNode((i + 1) + ':'));
               commentBlock .firstChild.insertBefore(numBox, commentBlock .firstChild.firstChild);
       }
}
addCounters();
</script>

If you want to see what this looks like in use... as soon as someone leaves me at least 1 comment on this post, it will start the numbering. Just click on my BLOG TITLE so that this post and it's comments are the only thing showing on the page. You'll see the comments numbered. I just love that he did this for me and all my friends. Sure does make it easier when doing a give-away and using random.org to pick a winner and not having to count the comments.

Have a GREAT day!
:) Janis

BBQ Invitations with Video... and some fun news!

Crafting For All Seasons Current Challenge..... HERE

Hi, guys! I'm so glad you all visit me every day. I almost always have something new to show you each day. Thank you for all who FOLLOW Pause Dream Enjoy, leave me COMMENTS and play in my 2 Challenge blogs:

Paper Playtime: New challenge every other Monday
Pause Dream Enjoy Challenges: New challenge every Friday

Do you remember when I started my blog in May 2009? Seems like forever ago. Well, I made a post on May 31, 2009 that I had just ordered the Cricut Expression and how excited I was waiting on it to get here.

My exciting news today is..... I ordered the Cricut Expression 2 yesterday morning! I'm so antsy with excitement. I can't wait for it to get here!

I love my Cricut. It's the BEST toy I've ever gotten.  I have considered switching over to the CAMEO because of the images that are shared (FREE) for cutting and some other reasons, and I may still do that one day, but my Cricut makes me so happy I doubt I'd ever stop using it no matter what other toys I may buy in the future.

I've been wanting to get the Cricut Expression 2 as well as a Gypsy for some time. I have a long wish list. LOL I work my Cricut to death using it every single day. And I've been so worried it was going to die on me. So it just so happened after waiting for months, I was able to order the Cricut Expression 2 yesterday. Hopefully, I can get the GYPSY soon too, but it may have to wait a few more months before I can spend more money and order that.

On to some BBQ Invitations & a video I made today....

You may have heard me talk about a house we own that we bought several years ago. It was built in the late 1800's and we gutted it down the to studs. Since that time we have worked on it off and on re-building and re-modeling and re-arranging the floor plan.  It's coming along nicely. We will be moving back into it in late August.

Several family members and friends have spent many a weekend at the house with us helping us with gutting, sheetrocking, painting, tile cutting, etc. We are very thankful for all the help we've gotten... especially since the AC broke and we've been working in the house with no AC this summer. Yuck.

We decided in order to thank all of our friends and family for helping, we'd throw a big BBQ cookout. Sounds like fun, huh?

Here are the invitations I made for this event...
