A Frosty Hello

Hi, friends!
I'm so excited for some new goodies that arrived earlier this week from Pink & Main. I love her paper pads, dies, stamps, etc.

This card was created inspired by the Card Kit of the Month sample idea that I changed up a little bit.

For the inside, I used the cut of scraps of the strips of paper.
On the sentiment, I stamped off, then stamped on the sentiment to make the ink much lighter.
The pattern papers, stamps, and stamp coordinating dies... all part of the card kit, plus lots of other goodies in there too I didn't use on this card.

Twinkle Twinkle Christmas Lights...

The Stamps of Life pattern papers
(hint: I used the same 2, 6x6 pattern papers for 2 cards. On the first card (posted on Monday this week), I used the back of these patterns.

It's easy to create 2 cards at the same time following the same card sketch. I mean, you already have everything out you need, so why not just go ahead and make 2? Plus this way I didn't have any 6x6 scraps left over since I used the scraps on the 2nd card.)

Stitched banner dies
Spellbinders scallop circle die
Die-namics stitched circle die
The Stamps of Life for sentiments
Puffy sticker from stash

Reindeer Goodie Bags

Hi, y'all!

Today I have some fun (and pretty simple) treat bags to share with you. I made these for one of the elementary classes my daughter teachers art to. I also made one for each of the Related Arts teachers.

Related Arts includes:
Art, Guidance, Music, Library, PE, and Technology

You may not even think it's a thing, but the Related Arts teachers are often left out of thank you notes and gifts from the children. They are even given LESS school supplies.... and some supplies NONE at all at the beginning of each year. Which makes no sense to me. They see the entire school of children, instead of just one class. But don't get me started on that. LOL

I had a ton of fun making these.

It's a general rule not to send food type goodies for the kids. There are kids with allergies or other health issues, and it's just better to avoid that type of treat.

So instead, I sent a little rubber ducky. Each bag got one in various colors.

(I keep a supply of rubber ducks in solid colors or costumes for ducking Jeeps. If you are a Jeep owner like I am you know what I'm talking about. If you aren't, I'll give you the short version. It's called DUCK DUCK JEEP. When you park by a Jeep or see one while out walking about, you put a little duck on the sidestep or windshield with a tag pointing to various local and national DUCK DUCK JEEP groups. And normally there is a short message like, "NICE JEEP!") People tend to keep them on the dash of their Jeep, so next time you see a Jeep, take notice if there are any rubber ducks on the dash.

(These are not my images - they were googled)

Anyway... I digress...

I also made everyone a Christmas Tree magnet. You know how much I love frig magnets!

And for the Related Arts teachers, I added Debbie Cakes, Chocolate, & Candy Canes.

(I may have sent the Art Teacher way more chocolate and Debbie Cakes than the others.... I mean, she is my daughter and all. LOL)

I ended up making 26 treat bags!
It was so much fun.
I won't lie, it did take a while to cut everything out and glue together, but it wasn't hard, and I enjoyed doing it.

I hope all of you have a very fun, blessed day.
Remember, if you have kids in school, try to remember the Related Arts teachers when sending gifts for your children's teachers. It would mean so much to them to be remembered.

Merry Christmas!
Hugs!

From South Carolina to Alaska - DRIVING

Hi, all! I had really good intensions of posting daily this month, but alas, it's just not happening as well as I planned. So, until I can get some projects made and posted, I thought I'd entertain you with photos from my husband's drive from South Carolina through Canada and ending in Anchorage, Alaska.

Tom headed out on Friday, December 10th

He is currently on Day 5 of his trip, and plans to arrive in Anchorage, Alaska tonight.

He has driven from South Carolina to Alaska and from Alaska to South Carolina over 16 times! He loves it. It's a very beautiful trip especially when you get up in Canada and on the Alaskan Highway (aka the Alcan... Alaska Canada Highway) into the wild. So many animals you just don't see in populated areas, Like Bison, lots of reindeer, bears, Bald Eagles, etc. We've made this drive as a family many times, and every time we have to putter through at a very low speed through the herd of Bison puttering along on the highway. It's just breathtaking.

Bonnie & I will be joining him up there. A few things to take care here first. I'm very much looking forward to it. Alaska is a beautiful place.

I'll be back tomorrow with some crafty goodness, and I'll try to get ahead on making some projects to post regularly to my blog.

Truckload Fun Fold Card

(hint: I used the same 2, 6x6 pattern papers for 2 cards. On the second card (posting here on Thursday), I used the back of these patterns.

Frig Calendar!

Time for Christmas Trees on the Frig calendar!

Every month, I put up paper pieced die cuts on the frig calendar numbered for the days of the month. This is something I've done for several years. It started out trying to help Bonnie get a grasp on time, and to see how many more sunshines until whatever it was we were counting down to (doctor appointment, travel, event, etc.).

I love doing this each month. I have quite the collection of magnets. Sometimes I reuse them, most of the time I create something new. Except for Christmas. The Christmas day cuts have been a tradition since we started doing this. Christmas trees for December days, Rudolph for when they visit while we sleep, and Santa for the day we open the gifts.

I used to buy magnetic tape. But when we were restoring the historical home, Tom had a need for heavy duty magnets with a sticky side for adhering. He had way too much left over, so.... JOY!!!... I got them as a hand-me-down for my frig magnets and other crafty projects. Yay!

We also have 2 charts on the frig (not shown - I temporarily took them down for the photo).

One chart is the months of the year with each family member's name and birthday including year.

The other chart is each family member listed by their family & kids in order of age with the years 2020 through 2030 across the top. It's simple to use:
1) Find the person you are interested in
2) move through the chart to the current year
3) the chart will tell you their age in that year

The grandkids love it! Okay, I do too since I have a hard time keeping up and remembering everyone's birthday and ages.

Jesus is the Reason for the Season

Hello, crafters!

Here's a card created with an old Paper Pumpkin refill kit (I never purchased the original kit that included the ink spots and stamp set). I had to improvise with stamp sets I had in my stash. And even though I accidentally stamped the sentiment crocked... it's still a true statement.

Vintage Sled Card

Merry Christmas!
Here is my sad attempt to create a Vintage style Christmas card. I almost didn't post this, but decided oh why not.

I actually love the background on the Anna Griffin 5x7 card.

And I love the sled cut file design.

I just don't love the colors of the card base and the ones I used for the sled together. But oh well. I took the time to make it, I might as well share it with you here.

Have a Holly Jolly Christmas

Hi, y'all! Today's card is from a past Paper Pumpkin kit. I actually bought this as a refill, so I don't have the stamp set that came with the full kit. Instead I used something I had in my stash.
