Friends through Rain or Shine

Hi, everyone! Thank you so much for visiting me today. I have a CUTE card to show you. Ready to see it?

You guys NEED to go visit Mary's Cardz TV Stamps blog. She posts all her stamps so you can see what is in each set, and she has lots of samples of cards she has created using her stamps. There is inspiration galore over there. You will get so many ideas and love it! Not to mention Mary also has a Cardz TV Gallery blog where her Design Team (me included!) takes turns posting every weekday a project they've created using Cardz TV Stamps. The Designers post cards, Project Life Layouts & Scrapbook pages, 3D objects, Home Decor, Mini Albums, etc.

Today is my day to post over at the Cardz TV Gallery blog (every other Thursday for me). I thought this card would be perfect for my post. Here are the details:
This froggie just makes me smile. He's so cute!

I'm glad you stopped by. Enjoy the rest of your day.

Weight Watchers Wednesday

Hi, everyone! Welcome back to my Weight Watchers Wednesday weekly journal posting. How is it going for you? I've heard from some of you, and I want to say a big "You Go, Girl!" Ms. B lost 10 pounds already! Yay! So proud of you all.

(I know there is a typo in the meme above, but it's still funny.)

I reached a milestone this Monday on my official weigh-in day. I have lost 10% of my starting weight. I'm down -20.8 pounds since I started the last week of January this year. I want to thank you all for reading my Wednesdays posts AND for commenting. It's encouraging to hear from you all. It really is.

According to Weight Watchers, reaching your 10% goal has these benefits:
  • A Healthier Heart
  • Lower Risk of Type 2 Diabetes
  • More Pep
  • A Mental Edge
Keep up the good work, guys! See you next Wednesday.

PETS Scrapbook Double Layout

Hi! Thank you so much for swinging by today to see what's going on in my craft room. There is a brand new challenge beginning today over at my scrapbook challenge blog, Bimini Moose. It's always anything goes scrapbooking (tracditional or Project Life) and the twist is always optional. This go round the twist is PET PAGES! Oh yea! I'm all over that one.

We adore Mary Ann & Ginger. They are full blooded Pit Bulls, but don't believe everything you hear about this breed. Dogs act and react according to the way they were raised. Our babies are loving and snuggle bunnies. Even though they are now both around 70 pounds (Ginger is a little more, Mary Ann is a little less), they still LOVE to sleep in our laps. Which is perfectly fine with me!

Products Used:

  • Project Life pocket pages
  • Scrap papers for pocket backgrounds
  • Miss Kate Cuttables "I love my Dog" title - print 'n cut
  • Stickers
  • Silhouette online store print 'n cut various doggie themed files
  • Xyron 1 1/2" sticker maker
  • ATG (Advanced Tape Glider)
  • PicMonkey (photo editing software - FREE)
Enjoy your day! Don't forget to stop by Bimini Moose to submit your scrapbook pages!

Cricut Explore Air

I'm so excited! I ordered the Cricut Explore Air over the weekend and it's already shipped!!!! YAY! I haven't used the Cricut in 2 years or more. I have missed Elegant Edges the most.

What does this mean for my crafting posts?

  • You can still expect to see Project Life Scrapbook pages on a regular basis
  • You can still expect to see stamped crafts
  • You can still expect to see Cameo creations
  • ..... PLUS now you can expect to see Cricut Creations with all our old favorite cartridges and some new cut files too!
If you have the Cricut Explore Air and are a part of a Facebook Group geared toward Cricut crafting, I'd love you to invite me to that group so I can be inspired and see what you guys are crafting. You can find me on Facebook and friend request me HERE

What's your favorite Cricut cartridge?

the BEGINNING is always TODAY

Hi!  Did I tell you that I recently joined the Unity SOTW (Stamp of the Week)? It's so fun to get a brand new stamp in the mail each week.  I decided since I finally have some of the Unity stamps I've been drooling over, that it was about time I submitted a project in their Be Inspired Challenge.

I chose to use the Card sketch for my entry.

The stamp is from one of the SOTW sets I've received...

Papers from Glitz.
I watercolored the mugs (something I love to do - watercolor, that is).
A little bit of gold and silver sequins and tada! It's complete.

Thank you for stopping by to see what I'm up to in my craft room. Enjoy the rest of your day!

Weight Watchers Wednesday

It's time for my Weight Watchers Wednesday post. So glad you decided to pause a minute and take a look-see for how I'm doing.

This week I lost another 0.4 pounds. Like I've said before - any loss is a good loss. I'm so happy with the steady shrinking, even if it comes in less than whole pounds per week - it's still helping me get to my goal!

Ooooo, I'm getting really close to my 10% goal!

If you want to make a change, it's never to late to start or to start again.

Now that we are all moved into to our new home on the lake, I expect the high step count I've been getting these past few weeks will start to diminish a little and get back to normal. BUT WAIT! I have a treadmill now (thanks, Marie!) so maybe I can boost my weight loss a little. I used it for the first time yesterday. Popped in a season of Bones into the laptop and started walking. It's so much easier to walk while watching TV because it distracts me. Otherwise walking on a treadmill can be very boring and not motivating at all.

Project Life Week 15 Double Layout

Hi! I'm slowly getting things unpacked and put away here in our new house.  So much to do, but I'm not stressing about it. Just doing a little at a time. My husband always says, "Work smart, not hard." Good advice.

Here are my Week 15 scrapbook pages using the Project Life pocket system.  I have lots of Project Life cards, but I have found even though they are fun to use, I also enjoy just cutting up my 12x12 papers for the backgrounds in the pockets too.

I used lots of Print 'n Cuts from the Silhouette store. Love my Silhouette subscription!

Those last 2 photos of the sunset - that was our view the night we moved in.
Breath-takingly beautiful.

Enjoy your day! See you next time.

Encouragement Mini

Hi, everyone! I hope you guys are enjoying your April so far. What have you been doing this spring?

As I write this, it's actually March 12, 2015; not even April yet. The weather is warming up to mild instead of freezing; flowers are beginning to bloom; pollen is dusting the windshields and sidewalks; and I'm loving it.

The project I have to show you today was made especially for a family member who is taking care of her husband as he fights Lewey Body Syndrome, Parkinson's, and now cancer. I'm hoping she will place it somewhere to remind her there is strength beyond our own limits.

This is an accordion album. It can sit on your desk, dresser, coffee table, shelf, wherever.

Scriptures for both sides were stamped using Mary's Cardz TV Stamp sets:

  • Rejoice
  • Easter Blessings

Instructions:

  • Cut a piece of cardstock to 12" x 4"
  • Score every 3"
  • Accordion fold
  • Cut matting for each panel at 2 3/4" x 3 3/4"
  • Cut decorative paper for each panel at 2 5/8" x 3 5/8"
  • Cut solid white cardstock for stamping messages at 2 1/8" x 3 1/8"
I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Wild Honey" and a sponging tool to soften the white around the edges, but leave some white space in the Scripture message.

Chipboard Hearts are from Studio Calico's Project Life monthly kits.
Decorative papers from KasierCraft "Fine & Sunny" 6 1/2" square pad.

This came together easily and quickly. You can customize this for any occasion, celebration, or thinking of you project.  I love making these.

Thanks for stopping by today to see what I'm up to. Enjoy the rest of your day!

Weight Watchers Wednesday

Oh my gosh! I'm so glad to have internet again! They just got it hooked up yesterday at our new house. I'm surrounded by unpacked boxes and unmoved furniture to it's rightful place. My crafting may take a while to get back in full swing. I went from a very large walk-in craft closet customized with tons of storage space to a room with a small closet and no shelves. Everything is in boxes with no where to store it yet. But it will work out. Just may take a while to come up with a new organizational system. All of this is COMPLETELY off topic.... sorry...

Okay, so time for my Weight Watchers Wednesday post. Did you guys track your steps last week? How many average steps a day did you get? I've gotten more than normal with all the packing and moving boxes around, so it was a good step week for me. I'm sure it will get back to normal as soon as I get everything unpacked and put where I want it. I have my VivoFit linked to my Weight Watchers account. They auto'magically' sync with each other so that the more active I am, the more activity points I earn which can be then used for food points or just accumulate during the week. Whatever activity points that are NOT used, are wiped away when my new week starts. I was able to earn 19 activity points last week. Yes, I was tired and my feet hurt a LOT.

I couldn't find the bathroom scale until after lunch on Monday. I kept looking in large boxes for it, but it was then discovered in a small box instead. So instead of weighing myself first thing in the morning on Monday morning like I've always done, I wasn't able to weigh in until after I'd had a nice lunch. Which I'm sure reflected itself in my weight, but oh well. It was the best I could do under these circumstances.

Start 203.4 (January 26)
185.2 (April 13)
- 1.4 (for the week)
- 18.2 (since start)

Very happy with my weigh-in!

Did you see that Weight Watchers has a new JOIN incentive going on? If any of you ever want to join Weight Watchers, use this link.....

//www.weightwatchers.com/Referral/index.aspx?url=7d9eade1-3

That way if there is an incentive going on for inviting a friend or joining through a friend, we will both get whatever perks may be offered. :)

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Week 14 Project Life Scrapbook Page

Here is my 1 page layout for Week 14 highlighting...

  • A couple of photos from Kevin's modeling photo-shoot
  • Stamped and colored Easter filler card using Unity Stamps right beside a couple of Easter photos
  • Some random photos of the lake house, Mary Ann snuggling with me, Kati building some shelves for her new room, Jimmy's motorcycle day trip, Keri and Kevin at the zoo, a scary train tunnel we drove through, Bonnie helping pressure wash the deck, and our empty living room in the new house.
  • A filler card created for Celebrating New Beginnings (our new house and move that week) with stamps from Unity Stamps and colored with Prisma pencils. Also a little write-up blurb about our week with a photo of Tom in his new Lake Life clothes.

Weight Watchers Wednesday

{This post was suppose to go live LAST Wednesday, April 8th, but we have been in the process of moving and without internet until TODAY.}

Good morning!  So glad you stopped by for my Weight Watchers Wednesday post.

I was doing so good last week until the Easter Bunny came with all that chocolate. I admit it. I went a little crazy eating chocolate over the weekend.

My weigh-in day was Monday. I lost a whopping 0.2 pounds. Hey - I'll take it! Any loss is a good loss!

Your challenge for this week:  Walk at least 5,000 steps a day. You can track them with something like a VivoFit or similar wrist band device, or you can use your iPhone Health app or other similar free app for your phone. 5,000 steps may sound like a lot, but it's really not. You'd be surprised.  Let me know next week in the comment section if you reach your goal!

Until next week,
:) Janis

P.S. I know this is short - I'm writing this on Monday morning, and I've got lots of packing to do for the move!

Have an EGGS-tra Special Easter!

Hi all my crafty, bloggy, scrappy friends! Tomorrow is Good Friday, and Sunday is Easter. I hope you all have a very nice weekend whether you have plans or no plans at all.

I used a very simple cut file for my card today. Seems like simple layers are my best friends these days.

  • Decorative papers from Hobby Lobby's Best Day Ever pad
  • Sil ID# 39401
