Lost In A Good Book

This one feels like a quiet little escape you don’t want to end.

Sunglasses on, book in hand, completely tuned out from the world—she’s not just reading… she’s gone. Off somewhere far more interesting than whatever’s going on around her.

I had fun layering these patterns to feel a bit like collected moments—little snippets, like pages from different stories coming together. It’s relaxed, but still full of personality.

This card doesn’t ask for attention… it invites you to slow down and slip into your own story for a while.

Moral of the story: Sometimes the best place to be is lost in a good story.

Now I’m curious… What’s the last book you couldn’t put down?

Bookmarks - Flamingo

Flower theme this month at Crafting Happiness Challenges!

***************

Had some fun with our laser cutter!

I cut out some 1/8" wood and adhered printed out Flamingo art for the front. I left the backs blank natural wood. I covered the front with Mod Podge to seal the ink, added ribbon, and done!
Love love love

Changes Are Coming

After decades of not working
staying home to care for Bonnie,
I go back to work this month.

I would love you to say a prayer for me.
I'm hoping God will bless my work
so that I'm a blessing to them.

Here are some changes happening to my blogs:

Pause Dream Enjoy:

I have spread out my projects to post
every week until the end of the year.

At least 2 projects a week will post,
some weeks will have 3-4 projects posted.

Thankfully, I work ahead, and already have
the rest of the year scheduled.

(I spent yesterday getting all that
sorted & moved around on the calendar.)

Crafting Happiness Challenge Blog:

Starting immediately all challenges will be
Anything Goes - Every Type of Crafting Welcome!

Also starting June 1st,
there will no longer be a design team
on my challenge blog.

It will just be me sharing one
of my projects for inspiration.

I obviously won't be able to
comment on every entry,
but I do see all of
the entries when choosing Top Picks.

My Design Teams:

I have all of my Design Team
projects
for my challenge blog
and the other
challenge blogs where I am
a design team member completed.

They are all scheduled and
ready to post at the appropriate time
for the rest of the year.

Unfortunately,
at that time I'll be stepping down
from all other Design Teams.

Which is very sad, but necessary.

Once I get the hang of working again,
I'd like to add a new feature to my blog
if I have the energy & time. LOL

There are blogs out there that share monthly
Scripture Writing,
Daily Prayer topics for your Journal,
and other types of prompts to motivate you
to open your Bible and spend time with God.

I love using these,
and am thinking about starting
something like that here.

If this is something you'd like to see
or have other suggestions,
please share them with me in the comments.

I'm not sure when I can get this started,
but it's something that keeps crossing my mind,
so I want to pursue it at some point.

Thank you all so much for supporting my blog
with your visits & comments since May 2009!!

Can you believe on May 25th,
Pause Dream Enjoy with be 14 years old?!!

Have a blessed day.
I appreciate you so much.
God bless you.

Everything is Possible (cross-stitch)

Hi all! Today I have another cross-stitch project to share with you. I'm on a roll! LOL

I started cross-stitching when I was 11 years old. There are so many projects I have created over the years.... family trees, baby blankets, pillows, Christmas Stockings, vertical wall banners, framed wall art, bookmarks, etc all with cross-stitch. I love this hobby.  It was introduced to me in Bible School when I was 11. We made a very simple design that fit in one of those tiny wooden circles. From that moment on, I've never stopped creating with cross-stitch. I've taken breaks, but I always come back to it. Cross-stitching is very relaxing, but it's definitely not the instant gratification you get from making cards. LOL

If you enjoy this hobby, let me know in the comments. I'd love to hear about what you create and see some of your projects.

Thanks so much for visiting me today. I hope to hear from you in the comments.

Hugs!

February Frig Calendar Time!

Hi, everyone!

I'm so sorry I haven't done a lot of crafting and sharing here on my blog lately. Our lake house is for sale, and we've had lots of showings almost every day. Which means time I do have a minute to get out my craft supplies, I end up having to pack them back up because someone asks to come see the house. I mean, that's good. We want to show it and sell it, but it's also frustrating to not have time to get involved in something for more than a few minutes. But that's okay. I know it's only temporary.

I did manage to get my February calendar magnets made over the last week here and there a few minutes at a time. I just love making these each month.

FIRST OF ALL
Yes, I know there are only 28 days in February.
But when I make the magnets each month, I always make 31 so I will have enough if I choose to use them for a different month.

Days of the week - Silhouette file library

February - text & numbers added, shadow added using font PN Cranberry Sauce Bold Regular (Silhouette library)

Everything else is cut and created with Cricut

Usually I hand write the date numbers on whatever I cut out. Not really a fan of that since it looks sloppy. So this time I thought I'd get out my sticker paper and cut out the numbers. Only what I thought was sticker paper was really white printable vinyl. And I didn't want white numbers, nor did I want to go the extra step and waste part of the sheet by printing them in color & then cutting them out.

Then I had an "ah-ha" moment. Vinyl!

I HATE gluing small pieces. Glue gets all over my fingers. But vinyl works like a sticker, right? Why didn't I think of this before?

So the numbers on the hearts are black vinyl. Very happy with how that worked out. Easy peasy.

Then I decided to make some corners to add to the different months this year. Just something extra and fun.

The little houses with times on them, are showing times people choose. When I get a time that doesn't have a house yet, I just write on a new blank house. And when we have multiple days with the same time, I make duplicates. (I haven't put this week's showing times up yet on the calendar.)

If you are still with me reading all of this, you may have noticed the photo on the frig.

This photo is from 2009 - me and Tom and taken by our daughter, Bonnie. This is the first time we moved to Alaska. Since that time, we've lived there a total of 3 different times. This is my favorite photo of us, and it's so special because our special needs daughter took it. Not only that, it's also very precious and special, because my sweet friend, Mary of Cardz TV, (I just love her!) made this frame and put our photo in it and sent it to me for Christmas so many years ago. I love it! It stays on our frig anywhere we live.

(We've been married 35 years.... 36 this August... and we've moved 28 different times. We love adventure and checking out new places. When our house sells this year ... if it does... we will be on move #29.  Will this be the last one? Maybe. But let's not put a cap on our adventures just yet.)

So there you have it.
A project.
A cut list.
A photo.
A story.

See you soon!!

Thanks so much for visiting my blog,
following, & commenting!!
