Weight Watchers Wednesday

I have been so busy that I completely forgot to get my Weight Watchers Wednesdays posted first thing this morning! Oh no! But don't fret - here it is!

203.4 Start
186.8 Monday
-1.8 for the week
-16.6 since start

Tom said over the weekend that I've lost a BOWLING BALL!

Listen, I know you may struggle like me with your own weight loss journey. It's not easy. It's more MENTAL battle than anything else for me. I keep telling myself to eat for nutrition, not pleasure, but there are some foods I crave for pure pleasure. Those meals I want seconds of. That candy that can do nothing for me but give me pleasure until I swallow it and then the pleasure is gone, and I want more.

The good news is... we can do this! Personally, I pray a LOT. I can't do this on my own strength. I know food is not a drug, but I swear I can imagine what a drug addict must feel like with the constant cravings.  So, hang in there! Don't give up! I'm your cheerleader! I'm routing for you! And our doggie, Ginger, is cheering for you too!

Thank you for your comments. We all need to encourage each other.

Whatever happened before this moment in time, is gone. There is nothing we can do to change what has already happened. But right now --This is your moment to start. To start anew. To move on from here.

Repeat positive thoughts in your head. When you pass the candy jar without stopping, tell yourself, GOOD FOR YOU! Good choice! Atta Girl!

When you wake up in the morning, take 5 minutes to just lay in bed before rushing into your day. Use those 5 minutes to tell yourself:

  • It's going to be a good day
  • I'm going to make good choices
  • I have extra weekly points I can use for special things like that sweet tea
  • I'm going to stand up and walk more even if it means walking in circles around my desk or pacing up and down the hall for a few minutes
  • I'm going to drink 8 ounces of WATER before I reach for a Diet Coke or Apple Juice or Sweet Tea
  • I'm going to take 15 minutes to eat one healthy snack bar instead of finishing it off in 2 bites
  • I can do this
  • I am doing this
  • Today is going to be a great day
Write them down on index cards and read them when you are craving food (not hungry).
Read them over and over again - in your head, out loud, in the shower, putting on your make-up, driving to work, over and over and over again.

Positive thoughts can turn your whole mentality around. It really does make a difference. I promise you. Just try it.

Until next week!
:) Janis
