You've Got This

Many of you know I've been on Weight Watchers since the last week of January this year. A friend of mine recently signed up with WW also, and I wanted to make her a card of encouragement. Because trying to lose weight is a huge mental battle for so many of us (me included), its always nice to hear a word of support from your friends and family.

  • Sil ID# 80009 - Scale shaped card
  • Rhinestones - Walmart
  • Tiny Silver Brad - Stampin Up
  • Die Cut banner and smiling woman - Fancy Pants
I am addicted to Die Cut packs! Where do you guys shop for them? I only have 2 packs that came as part of an order and just love them. I want to use them cards I'm making and in my scrapbooks!

  • Cardz TV Stamps - Just Saying set
I thought that sentiment stamp from Cardz TV was PERFECT for the inside of this card!!

One more thing...... have a fabulous Friday darlings!

Panda Card

Hi, everyone! Lots of good things on my schedule today including that the Dishwasher dude should be here at some point to get my dishwasher working again! I'm so over washing dishes by hand. Yes, I'm spoiled. :)

Need a simple card idea with no background pattern paper? Well, here you go!

  • Silhouette ID# 80774 - Panda card
  • Sil ID# 28892 - set of shapes (used one for the sentiment matting)
    • I created a shadow layer for the sentiment matting using the Silhouette Cameo Offset feature
  • Cardz TV Stamps "Just Saying"
  • Ribbon added for cuteness :)
Thanks for stopping by! See you again next time.

Weight Watchers Wednesday

If you'd like to join me in Weight Watchers, please use this link.

Hi, everyone! Welcome to Weight Watchers Wednesday!

Are you tracking your points every single day?

I want to thank all of you who read my Wednesday posts and leave me comments. It makes a BIG difference to have your support and encouragement. I now have 2 ladies that have signed up with WW using my link. WW keeps your identity private, so I don't know who you are, but THANK YOU! Each time one of you signs up with my link, WW gives me a FREE MONTH! That's a huge deal! If you'd like to join me in Weight Watchers, please use this link.

How is it going on your WW journey? Are you writing everything down?
If you BITE IT, WRITE IT.

I lost -2.0 pounds this past week. Yay! I am so close to 30 pounds lost! Maybe next week I'll be able to tell you that 30 pounds are gone forever. I hope so. Keep your fingers crossed!

I wore out my VivoFit band that tracked my steps for me, so I started using one of Tom's bands. Then I got my arm caught on something and ripped his band. Gee-whiz. I've worn a Vivofit for so long,  I kind of just know when I've met my step goal these days. It's become more of a watch for me instead of a step counter. I decided to take it off and buy a cheap watch instead. I Bought the cheapest one they had at Target ($10.99), and I love it. (Blue band - you know I love blue.)

Non-Scale Victory from this week.......
  1. Tom's brother and my Sister-in-law came over to eat with us Saturday night. I haven't seen them in a couple of weeks and when Donna saw me, she said, "Hey, Skinny!" You know that made me smile. I'm not skinny, but she said how she could tell Weight Watchers was working for me and keep doing it. :)
  2. I wore a skirt and tank top to the grocery store for some fruit. A man in the parking lot hollered at me when I walked by. Okay, that's really creepy, but I took it as a compliment. As long as he doesn't approach me, because then I'll have to karatasize him.

I hope you all have a fabulous week! Don't forget to count your points, feel good about yourself exactly where you are at this moment, and weigh yourself once a week.  See you next Wednesday for another Weight Watchers post. Hugs!

Graduation Scrapbooking - Mixing Traditional Scrapbooking with Project Life Style

Hi, everyone! Today starts a brand new challenge over at Bimini Moose. The challenges are always anything goes and the twist is always optional. This time the twist is to focus on a specific family member. I thought my graduation scrapbook pages would be perfect for this theme!

Our daughter, Kati, graduated from the University of South Carolina in May with her Masters in Art Education. In other words, she's going to be an Art Teacher. I wanted to include her graduation announcement in my photo album, but it was too large for any of the Project Life pocket pages I had. My friends are so creative and smart! I took their advice to make a traditional scrapbook page, and found a great page on Pinterest that I loved and adapted for my own needs and style.

  • I used the Cricut Design Space to cut out the Graduate word, tags, and year.
  • The cap with tassel behind the letter "A" was a lot of fun to create.
  • Tulle added to the tags
  • I cut out some info from the program like Kati's name and degree, the University's seal... stuff like that.
I was very pleased with how it came out!

For Mother's Day (the day after her graduation), Kati had given me tons of Project Life papers, filler cards, tags, etc. I used some them to create these pages.

It was a fantastic weekend! It's one of those weekends you want to burn into your memory and never ever forget. Many special moments.

Thank you all so much for visiting with me today. Don't forget to link up your scrapbooking pages over at Bimini Moose.

Project Life Scrapbook Page

Hi! Happy weekend!!  Here is one more page from our Week 22 for the Project Life scrapbook. As you can see, it was a very non-eventful week.  I saw a great project that I wanted to do for myself. Many of you know I'm on Weight Watchers. I decided to make a POUND jar. One for POUNDS LOST and one for POUNDS TO GO. It sounded like a fun idea. It's also a great visual of how far I've come!! I got Bonnie & Wyatt signed up for the library's summer reading program. They love going to the library. So do I!

See you next time.

Project Life Scrapbook Page

Hi! Here is one of the pages from our Week 22 for our scrapbook. Tom (my husband) had to travel to Canada for a couple of weeks for work. He sent me some photos, but not many because he was too busy working crazy long hour days! The lake photo at the top is one I sent him showing him how smooth and still the lake was one morning.
  • Sil ID# 30398 - Canada word
  • Sil ID# 80462 - Passport

Super simple! I'll show you the second page for this week tomorrow. See you then!

Hi, everyone! Can you believe we are already in the first week of June? Time flies.

I have a Father's Day card to show you today from the Silhouette store.

  • Sil ID# 27523 - DAD shaped card adhered with foam tape for dimension
  • I created an internal offset for the inside and cut it out in white cardstock

  • I knotted some kraft twine and used a tiny banner punch from Walmart to create a fun banner. The banner pieces were adhered with glue dots.
  • Cardz TV Stamps:
    • Bigger Everyday Sayings - Hello
    • It's All Good - Have a BANNER day
  • Edges inked with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain
I'm very tickled with how it came out. This one will be mailed to my daddy with some photos.

Thanks for stopping by today. See you next time!

Weight Watchers Wednesday

Don't you love that poster above?
This week I lost a whopping -0.2 pounds.
Hey, it's a loss!  I'll take it!

I did not eat well last week at all.
I skipped meals,
Didn't drink enough water.
Didn't do a lot of walking.
Had tons of trouble sleeping all week.
Sigh
Some weeks are like that I suppose.
I'm not perfect.
Perfection would be boring.

So..........
this week..........
let's do this right!
I want big results next Monday on my next weigh in.
I weigh myself every morning.
I've been flirting with 175, but haven't maintained that for more than a day.
I really want 175 next week.

Stay motivated!

Smiles!

Father's Day Gift Idea for Golfer

Hi, everyone! Father's Day is later on this month. I thought I'd show you a great idea for the Golfer in your life. This project is from Cricut Design Space Make-It-Now section.

This is a fun idea! The Cricut Explore drew all the little golf carts. (I used my Crayola black marker which fits great in the Cricut machine.)  It also cut out the topper layers and the Happy Father's Day oval.  Easy and quick.

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Scrapbook Page from Week 21

Hi, everyone! Hope you all are having a fabulous week so far. Today I want to show you one of my scrapbook pages from Week 21. I normally scrapbook weekly with pages Monday through Sunday. That way I keep my weekends together on the layout. This time I extended that Monday through Memorial Day Monday.

We had a blast that weekend! Kayaking, Canoeing, Swimming, BBQing, etc. It's the first time I've ever Kayaked. Oh what fun! We also got a new grill with a smoker attachment, so it's the first time we smoked a pork. Yummy!

Many of you know I'm on the Weight Watchers program. On that particular Monday after my weigh-in, I was down -26.6 pounds so far! Woo-Hoo! I was pretty excited about passing the 25 lb mark.

Thanks for stopping by! See you next time!

Many Thanks (Cricut Explore)

This was the 2nd card I made after I got my Cricut Explore Air last month, and I knew I wanted to save it to post for Mary's Cardz TV Gallery blog. I love the lace doily!

  • Cardz TV Stamps "Heartfelt Wishes"
  • Cricut Design Space Make-It-Now card
  • Green glitter brad for flower center
  • I added score lines to the leaves and folded them a little
  • Flower petals were also encouraged to pop up instead of laying flat
I'm so impressed with the delicate cutting for this doily with my new Cricut Explore. WOW. Thanks for stopping by today.

Stamped Butterfly Card

I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and color theme from Just Add Ink. The butterfly stamp set is from Unity's Stamp of the Week "Change is Never Easy." I stamped the image twice and fussy cut one of the butterflies to add a 3D element to the card. The image was water-colored with my Aqua Brush and Ink pads.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Red, White, & Blue Blog Hop with Cardz TV Gallery Designers

Hi, everyone! Today I am part of the Red, White, & Blue Cardz TV Gallery Designers' Blog Hop! If you missed seeing the other Designers' amazing projects, be sure to start at the beginning at Mary's Cardz TV Blog.

I decided to create a 12x12 scrapbook layout for my Red, White, and Blue project. Take a looksee!

I LOVE how it turned out!

Cut files used:
  • Sil ID# 67429 - Background - I used the Tutorial on the Silhouette America site for filling in an intricate shape
  • Sil ID# 44051 - The Lake Is Calling (I created a shadow for some of the words that didn't include one in this cut file)
  • Sil ID# 1407 - Tag (I created the shadow for this tag as well using the Silhouette Offset feature.)
Cardz TV Stamps used:
  • It's All Good - No Worries
  • It's a Guy Thing - Solid smaller star image
  • Christmas Joy - Striped larger star image (I stamped off the page first and then stamped this design on the tag to lighten the ink a little)
Photo was taken recently one evening by my husband, Tom, while we were sitting out on the dock looking at the stars. We could see Venus, Jupiter and the Moon among other stars. I love quiet, beautiful moments with my hubby like that.

Rhinestones and ribbons on tag are from Walmart.
Lake, tag, and background all adhered with foam tape for dimension.

What's a blog hop without some blog candy! Mary will be giving 3 NEW Sets of Cardz TV Stamps for her blog candy, so if you're a follower of Cardz TV, just leave a comment on her blog! Mary will use random.org to pick a winner, and will announce the WINNER on Monday!

Below is a list of all the stops in today's Red, White, & Blue Blog Hop. If you get lost, just come back here to check the list and find your way again.

Thank you for hopping with us today... we hope you had fun! I know we did!

Weight Watchers Wednesday

Hi, everyone! Did you all have a fabulous long weekend last weekend? We enjoyed ourselves swimming, kayaking, grilling, smoking some pork, and just hanging out with family and friends.

I kept a headache all weekend. (Not a migraine like I get sometimes. Just a headache.) My husband, Tom, and I were talking about that yesterday trying to figure out what was different that made me keep that headache every day over the Memorial Day weekend. At first I thought it was maybe too much sun on Saturday & Sunday, but I wasn't in direct sunlight that much and when I was I had on sunscreen, sunglasses, and a baseball hat to help keep it off my face. Tom asked if I had eaten my meals regularly. I had not. Plus I didn't eat nearly the fruit I normally eat during the day. I was pre-occupied with talking to family and friends, playing in the lake, sitting on the dock laughing at stories being told, etc. I really threw my routine out of the window without even noticing how I was neglecting my noutrition. I need to get back on track today. That watermelon that has sat on the kitchen counter all weekend needs to get cut up and enjoyed.

I was pleasantly surprised with my weigh-in on Monday. The kyaking and swimming over the weekend I'm sure helped boost my weight loss.  I lost another -2.0 pounds! Yay! That puts be past 25 pounds lost with a total of -26.6 pounds forever gone. It feels amazing. I don't really see a big difference in my body unless I'm looking at photos from last year, but seems like everyone else notices and says something about it to me. I was also shocked when I put on my bathing suit this weekend, it hung on me. I had to dig a little deeper to find an older bathing suit to wear. I'm  wearing some older jeans that are a smaller size, and bought some shirts recently at Walmart that are a smaller size. Truly it makes me feel so good with the scale and non-scale little victories. I still have a long way to go, but how encouraging it is to me that I'm well on my way, and I know I can do this. I am doing this. You can do it too. Don't let little setbacks make you quit. Just keep using the Weight Watchers plan and the weight will come off.

I've chatted more than I normally do on these posts, so I'll hush now.

If you'd like to join me in Weight Watchers, please use this link.

See you next Wednesday for another WW update.

Scrapbook Project Life Page from Week 20

Hi, everyone! Today starts a brand new Scrapbooking challenge over at Bimini Moose. It's always anything goes and the optional twist this time is "This Day in History."

I thought I'd share a couple of my scrapbook pages from Week 20 with you. There are a couple of things that happened this week that will go down in History..... at least in our family. LOL

First of all, our son who has been in the Army since he was 18, is now officially a civilian for the first time in his adult life - and after serving our country for 9 years with 2 war deployments.  That's pretty significant, and a Day In History for our family.

Second, we have only been in our new lake house for a few weeks, and for the first time in what seems like forever, we actually had all of our children in our home AT THE SAME TIME. LOL We all put on our bathing suits and went swimming!

Wait, let me correct that. Bonnie was the only one who didn't get in the lake this time, but she still joined us on the dock in her bathing suit.  We need to replace the ladder at the end of our dock (see nasty underwater picture of that slimy mess above). Bonnie is going to need something easier to use. She has a hard time just walking over bumps, sticks, curbs, etc. She doesn't need to deal with a nasty ladder like that. We are going to make getting in and out of the lake "Bonnie Friendly" so she can enjoy swimming with us (with a life jacket) with no worries and no stressful situations.

See Jimmy doing a handstand on Kati's paddle board. You go, boy!

Fun, fun, fun swimming with the kids.

See you tomorrow. Don't forget to link up your pages over at Bimini Moose!

Anna Griffin Lacy Square Card

Love Anna Griffin stuff!

  • Cricut Design Space Make-It-Now card
  • 3D sentiment, 3D Flowers, and chipboard butterfly all from an Anna Griffin card kit I got a few years ago.
  • All papers from scrap box
I'm still amazed every time I have the Cricut Explore cut something lacy or small fonts. It just blows me away at how good it comes out.

See you next time.
