I've got BLOG CANDY at the end of this post and a list of the entire blog hop line up in case any of you guys get lost along the way. So be sure to check it out!

Today we are celebrating a very special little girl's first birthday. She has had a difficult fight this past year and we felt what better way to celebrate her life than have a blog hop!
Felicity has touched many lives even though she is not even one yet. Every day she makes therapists, doctors, and even her family smile.

This is the BLOG CANDY that
Shawnee (the beginning of this hop) is offering.
(See my blog candy at the end of this post.)
One paper pack and April Showers Cricut Cartridge.

There are two ways to earn blog candy
1. Leave a comment on each blog
2. Go back to Shawnee's blog hop post and post how you blessed someone else with a link.
3. Tweet/Facebook about the blog hop

Our blog hop today is all about being a blessing to someone or showing appreciation to someone who has been a blessing to us.

Here is my Mama and Daddy on April 10th of this year on Mama's 72nd birthday.

My project for this hop is a Scripture card I made for my Mama who turned 72 years old this month.  She is so encouraging to me always ooooo-ing and ahhhh-ing over things I create. And not just me either. She has also framed pictures, drawings, paintings, cross-stitch and needlepoint others have given her too. Take a look at some of the things she has framed and displayed from creations people have given her....

The above drawing is a picture our daughter, Kati, drew for Mama.

The above table displays one of the very first cards I ever made in 2009 using my brand new Cricut Expression and one of the Solution cartridges that came with it.

The above is one of the paintings I created. I have a whole stack of them, and she asked if she could have one. I was totally surprised when she had it framed and put on her wall.

Mama is very good to me, and to all of us. She is also supportive and encouraging. She is such a blessing.

So today I decided to show you a card I made for her. She loves butterflies so I added a 3D one to the card popped up on foam tape. I had to use some blue and purple in the stamping background since they are my favorite colors. The inspiration for this card came from a post by THE STAMPERS CHEF.

  • Card base is white cardstock from Office Depot 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
  • Black image matting 2 1/8" x 5 3/8"
  • Image background created by sponging different inks for the background then stamping the image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on top of the background sponged ink.
  • Background colors are all Close To My Heart Inks (from bottom to top): Pear, Lagoon, Gypsy, and Honey
  • Flower image is from Stampin' Up "Serene Silhouettes"
  • Cardz TV Stamps "Rejoice" used for Scripture stamp inked with Memento Tuxedo Black ink
  • 3D butterfly from Recollections adhered with foam tape

  15. It is so nice to have an appreciative audience, isn't it!? Your Mama is a gem, framing the art of her loved ones. I cherish the art given me, too, and in fact, all of the art I have framed and hung in my home has been done by one relative or another. My sister is what I would consider the very most talented of all of us -- she does beautiful watercolor paintings, and I am lucky to have absconded with two of my favorites. I had them archivally preserved and framed; one is in my living room and the other is in my guest bedroom. She was SO flattered that I would take such care of her creations! So it's a win-win for both of us ... I get the art, and she gets the joy in knowing how much it is loved. It is truly a blessing to be able to give with such love!

    Fondly,
