I love this time of year!
It's been cool in the mornings here enough to open the doors and windows.
I find it very refreshing.
Good news! Our son has been going to truck driving school these past several weeks. Yesterday, he took his test at the Dept of Motor Vehicles, and passed. He now has his CDL (Commercial Driver's License) and will be leaving for orientation at the company he chose to work for in the next few days. It's common for driver's to have to take the CDL test more than once, so we were all very proud that he passed the first time. Of course, we sort of knew he would. He drove trucks in the Army for all those years. CDL is different, but I'm sure some of that experience and skills transitioned over.
Truck driving is something he's always planned to do once he was out of the Army. He is starting to live his dream. You know that's gotta feel good.
Does this card speak "sweater weather" to you? You can make a card just like this so easily. It's super simple. Here's what I did....
Whisper White card base is A2 size (4 1/4" x 5 1/2")
Wild Wasabi 4 1/8" x 5 3/8
Soft Suede embossed with the Stampin' Up Woodgrain folder 4" x 5 1/4"
Banner strips cut 1" wide and then punched with the Banner Triple to flag the ends.
Pattern papers from the Into the Woods DSP (Designer Series Paper)
Rich Razzleberry for the solid piece of cardstock
The image is matted with
Wild Wasabi 3 1/8" x 2 3/4"
Soft Suede 3" x 2 5/8"
Whisper White for image 2 7/8" x 2 1/2"
Images and Sentiment from Acorny Thank You stamp set
Wild Wasabi, Tangelo Twist & Crumb Cake ink pads
Sponge Dauber for green shading at bottom of image
Dazzling Details added to leafy border stamp
Bitty Banners Framelits to cut out the Thankful banner
Easy & love that fox!
The flagged banners are a great way to add some Designer Series Paper to a card to stretch it out for several projects. It's also a great way to use up those little scraps you just can't bare to throw away. Okay that's me. Is that you too?
Image matting adhered to card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
