How does your Garden grow?

Hi! What are you guys doing? I put some beef roast in the crock pot this morning with some Lipton's Onion Soup Mix, a little water, and some chopped up potatoes. It sure does smell good now. Hope it will be delicious for supper!

  • I wanted to use the JAR from my Doodlecharms cartridge today. I started looking around Pinterest and Google images for inspiration. Then I went to my Bestie's (Mary) blog, Cardz TV, and searched her DOODLECHARM projects. I followed the layering instructions on her video to make my jar, but used a different size and different critters.

You can see Mary's blog post and video HERE.

Here is my creation!

  • A2 size card "Portrait" style 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
  • All pattern papers from American Crafts "With Love" 6x6 pad (from Target)
  • Hounds-tooth mat cut @ 4" x 5 1/4"
  • ELEGANT EDGES "Leaves" Oblong and shadow p. 29 cut @ 4 1/4"
  • DOODLECHARMS:
    • Jar p.95 cut @ 3 1/2"
    • Basic cut in gray
    • Blackout cut in Brown (twice) and clear acetate
    • One of the brown cuts, I cut off the lid to place on top of the gray layer
    • The acetate goes on the very top and adhered lightly with Zig 2-Way glue pen around edges only - creates a nice Shadow like Mary said in her video - I agree.
    • I recycled a Cricut Mat cover for the acetate on this jar. :)
    • Limb also p. 95 cut @ 3 1/2"
  • Jar adhered to Elegant Edges mat with foam tape for dimension
  • Trendy Twine
  • Martha Stewart Classic Butterfly punch
  • Heart Buttons
  • Cardz TV Stamps "Think Spring" for sentiment on bottom
Thanks for stopping by today! Check out Mary's video to learn how to layer this jar. Pretty cool!   Here's the inside....

Again used Cardz TV Stamps "Think Spring" for sentiment.

:) Janis

    1. Janis, I love this card. Mary was my first go to blog when I started cardmaking. Then I found you too. Whoop! I think I'm still in the learning phase (a year later), but I do have fun. When I need acetate, I use clear page protectors that come from Office Depot, Staples, etc. A box of 100 is really pretty inexpensive and since they are folded, you get twice as much. They work out fine on cards, even tho they might not be as heavy as a recycled Cricut mat. Just my solution. Thanks and Hugs for all your inspiration.
