Crafting Happiness Ch# 31 - Scrapbook Layout

Hi, everyone! It's Monday which means it's time for a new challenge over at my Crafting Happiness Challenges blog! Come join us!

Challenge #31 - Scrapbook Layout

Here's my first scrapbook layout for 2020!
I used a Pagemaps sketch from August 2018, altered slightly.

Background papers, butterflies, and 3D flowers are all Anna Griffin from other card kits.
BLESSED is from a paper collection kit that had black alphabet stickers.
The index card and hello cuts are from the Silhouette library.
I used a Stampin' Up punch for the flagged banner on my paper strip.

Very soft and so not my style, but I like how it turned out.

Thanks for visiting with me.

Love You

Hi, everyone!
I hope you're having a marvelous weekend.
I pulled out some old pattern papers from Stampin' Up
and decided to follow a sketch on a challenge
blog I stumbled across.

It's hard to tell in the photo,
but the gold shiny part of the cardstock
shows up at the top, but then the
other 2 dark layers are also gold,
you just can't tell it.

My Besties image

Stampin' Up supplies:
Powder Pink & Cherry Cobbler cardstock
Cherry Cobbler ribbon
Painted with Love, pattern cardstock
Itty Bitty Banners, stamp set
Itty Bitty Banners, die set
Stampin' Dimensionals to raise up image

Other supplies:
Sequins (Amazon)
Glue dots (Amazon)

This came together pretty easily.
That's not always the case,
but I love it when that happens.

Last Friday was 2 years since my daddy died.
It's so weird that me and my brother and sister
are now the oldest generation in our family.
I still get urges to mail Mama cards
or to call her and ask her about a recipe.
Wish I could. I miss her so much.

Thanks for visiting!
Have a wonderful day.
God bless you
:) Janis

Hooray Birthday Card

Hi! Do you guys like to bake? I don't do a lot of it. In fact, usually only for special occasions. However, I do love the smell of fresh baked bread. It's one of the things we love about shopping at Publix - it smells so good in there!

Times, They Are A Changin'

The Paper Players image
Stampin' Up sentiment (Gifts of Kindness set)

I have a friend going through a lot of life changes right now.
We've all been there on some level or other.

She's overwhelmed, exhausted, and about at the end of her strength.

It's hard when we can't see the light at the end of the tunnel.
But it's there. She will get through this.

God's mercy and grace will see her through.

One day she may have a friend going through a similar life change, and at that time, my friend will be the perfect one to encourage her because my friend will know how her friend feels. She's been there. She made it through.

And my friend will be able to tell her friend to hang on.
It does get better.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.
I appreciate all of you so much.
I'd love to hear from you in the comments.
Big hugs.
May God bless you and keep you.
May He make His face shine upon you,
and give you peace.

A Card for Him

I find making cards for him to be challenging.
Anna Griffin card bases and toppers for him
make it so much easier!
Everything including the card base is from
Anna Griffin.

Llama Hugs

Playing with some old Graphic 45 papers and a llama image I had cut out last year. The lighting for the photo wasn't great, so the colors are a little off, but you get the idea.

Thank you for swinging by today.

God bless you

Heart Banner

Banner cut file from Lori Whitlock in the Silhouette Library
Easy peasy lemon squeezy

I used purple twine because I don't have any red or pink.
 Wha What?

This is hanging on the wall above my computer monitor.

I'm thinking I should just make different banners
throughout the year and keep
adding them until the wall is full.
Could be fun.

Yummy Treats

Time to make some sweet treats!
I'm not real happy with how this turned out.
But, hey, sometimes that's just how it goes.
It looked so much better in the Design Store.
The cut file itself is cute - I just don't like the colors I picked out or the ribbons.
But I like the chocolate!!!!! So there's that.

Have a fun day!

Birthday Wishes

I'm playing with Anna Griffin stuff today. Fun!
The card and elements are from different kits that I mixed together. Her stuff is so pretty! If you are new to card making, and don't know where to start, try one of her kits. Everything matches. You can't go wrong with what you choose to put on your card. There are so many different choices in the kit, that every card turns out unique.

I'd love to hear from you in the comments.
Hugs!

Something Different Today

I bought this Bible several years ago thinking I'd spread out my crafting into a new area.

I am horrible at it. LOL

I think I did maybe just a handful of pages and thought this is not working.

So I quit.

Today, I picked it up again. I mean, so what if I'm not an artist? I'm giving it a try again.

Colored pencils to color the written Scripture (already in the margin)
Miss Kate Cuttables Easter Die Cuts
Glue Dots

Very simple, but I did it.
My sweet friend, Jeanette, says she treats her Bible Journaling like card making. I did that on one of mine in the past, and I think that's going to be the key to get me going in this again.

Here is the Bible I'm using strictly for Bible Journaling.

Thank you for visiting with me today!
I'd love you to leave a comment, so I can go visit your blog too.
Hugs, Happy New Year, & God Bless You

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Merry Christmas, everyone!
May God Bless You, keep you safe, and provide for all your needs in the coming year.

Here are some little treats I made for all the children and grandchildren.  I threw a big one in there for Tom too. LOL

The cut file is from the Silhouette store, but I can not find it or remember what it's called. I've had it a while, so looking through my recent downloads doesn't help at all. I do remember the file did NOT come with the pattern paper size cuts. I did those by hand. These are stuffed with candy. Because everyone needs to load up on sugar on Christmas morning, right?

What are y'all doing today?
Everyone is coming here first thing in the morning.
Open presents; play BINGO with White Elephant gifts, snack on sweet sugary goodies, then half the family will leave to go to visit their significant others' families, while some stay for a Vegan lunch. We are having a VERY simple Christmas this year. Like last year, our gifts are all hand-made or extremely inexpensive or from Goodwill or other type of thrift store. It's not about the money spent. It's about spending time with family. We plan on playing lots of games like Pictionary, Uno, Phase Ten, Family Feud, etc. Can't wait. We always have so much fun playing games!

I said above that Christmas is about Family. But let me be clear. Christmas is truly about celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ who ultimately paid for our sins so that we would be seen as righteous through the blood of Jesus and welcomed into heaven even though we don't deserve eternity with God. That's how much He loves us.

Enjoy your family, your friends, your holiday. If you are alone this Christmas, please know you are not really alone. Others care for you and love you. Sometimes it's hard to travel and see you, and sometimes we lose loved ones during the year that can't visit. I'm really missing my Mama who passed away a few months ago. I keep wanting to mail her a card. She loved getting my cards in the mail. Not because they are awesome or anything like that, she has always loved mailing cards and receiving them. Don't we all?

Merry Christmas.
I'm praying for each one of you reading my blog today. I may not know you visited if you don't leave a comment, but God knows who you are. Be blessed.

Christmas hugs and Candy Cane kisses,
:) Janis

2020 A to Z Reading Challenge (Hosted by Ginger Mom & Company)

Me again! Wow... 2 posts in one day... feels like old times....

In addition to the Kindle Unlimited Challenge,
I'll also be participating in the A to Z Ready Challenge for 2020 hosted by Ginger Mom & Company.
You can check it out on their blog HERE.

The books I read that work with both the Kindle Unlimited and A to Z challenges, will be used for both. If that makes sense.

That is all.
Enjoy the rest of your day.
I have to run to Bi-Lo for green peppers now so Tom can cook supper.
Yum!
Hugs!
:) Janis
