Inky Paws Sketch #20

Inside the card, I used some of the tidbits I cut off the banners.

This card was a joy to make. I got to use some dies, a fun sketch, a print 'n cut, gorgeous papers from my stash, and most of all some lace that used to be my Mama's. I love pulling out her sewing things and incorporating them into my crafting. PLUS, she loved butterflies too, so the background paper reminds me of her as well.

I miss my Mama. The 10th of the month would have been her birthday, but instead she's up in heaven having so much fun.

When she was nearing death, she had moments of clarity, and moments of unresponsiveness. More than once in her moments of being awake she'd mention things she was seeing like "golden gold vases" among other things. I think she was getting a preview of heaven.  

Also more than once during these times, she'd hold my hand, look straight into my eyes, and tell me in such a strong and confident voice, "I'll see you soon." Then she would slip back into sleep until those wakeful moments became fewer and fewer, and sleep became all her body could manage before slipping away into heaven. 

She was right though. I'll see her again soon. Our time here on earth is just a wink of an eye compared to eternity in heaven with Jesus.

I hope that I'll get to meet you in heaven too. Whatever you are going through right now, whatever pain you are experiencing, anxiety, fear, indecision, unrest, or other things that are weighing you down.... I'm praying for you. I don't have to know your name, God knows it. So I ask in the name of Jesus, that you have peace, knowledge, wisdom, healing, a breakthrough, an answer to prayer, restoration of faith, that the fear inside of you will flee, all in Jesus' name. 

You are not alone. You are never alone. You are precious, worthy, and loved. Remind yourself that. If you need mercy, just ask for it. God promises His mercy is new every day and NEVER runs out. It's available to you. Yes, you. God never turns His back on anyone... ANYONE, who comes to Him for help. We were never meant to travel through this life alone. He knows we need Him. He's just waiting to be invited into your life. I pray you will trust Him. He will never let you down. Sometimes He removes the storm in our lives, sometimes He holds our hand and guides us through it to the other side. Either way, trust Him. He loves you. Yes, you.

I started out with Mary's Cardz TV Sketch #50, but as I was playing with scrap papers from this paper pad, I had to adjust it a little to make the most of the scraps I was using. That's what sketches are for though, to use as they are or to inspire you to adjust and make it your own.

Bonnie is our special needs daughter, and she can't read, but she can recognize her name on the envelope when she gets mail, and she loves getting mail on her birthday... well anytime really, but usually it just comes on her birthday.  It means a lot to me that you do this small kindness - seeing her smile is priceless! Thank you again!

I have a springtime box card to share with you today.

As I am writing this post, it's beginning to rain and thunder here. Oh, I do love me a good thunderstorm.

Some Vinyl cuts...

You know I hate liquid glue. I mean, I'll use it when I have to, but I avoid it to extreme measures. Meaning I'll use anything else I can find first, and only use liquid glue as a last resort.

So... if you follow my monthly refrigerator calendars I make for Bonnie to help her visualize time, days, events, etc, you'll know I recently had a brainstorm: Why am I fussing with gluing thin numbers to put on the die cuts for the frig, when vinyl works just like stickers?!?!?!

I've started incorporating that new idea to my other various craft projects as well, like this box card where the small cuts for this project were actually cut vinyl.... the umbrella handle and colored panels, all layers of the rainboots, and the raindrops under the cloud.  

I am loving this idea of using vinyl for small pieces!  I get so excited about little things like that. hahaha

(Ooooo, did you hear that? Big ba-da-boom! 

It's getting darker and darker outside, and currently it's only 1pm on Tuesday when I'm writing this up to post for Thursday.)

April Frig Calendar for Bonnie

Time to share our family's April refrigerator calendar I create for Bonnie each month. I love making these as much as she loves looking at them every day and taking off dates or looking at special events coming up.

SVG cut files and I don't remember 

what chubby font I used, but I like it!

I used black vinyl for the numbers 

(it's my way of avoiding gluing thin pieces of paper)

The cake is a 'print and cut' because

Golf Anyone?

Hi, there! Hello!

This box card today was made especially for a friend's daddy who is in a nursing home. She said they talked about the good old days and golfing on one of her recent visits. I asked if she thought her daddy would enjoy a golf card because I'd love to make one for him and mail it out.  She did. So I did.

It's really quiet right now in our home.

Tom is off getting a few supplies to finish up the inside of our house renovation.

Bonnie is napping... and so are our dog, Chuck and kitty, Dani Rojas.  Wonder how long the quiet will last?

Our daughter, Bonnie, has a birthday this month.

If anyone would like to mail her a birthday card, she would LOVE LOVE LOVE it. She has special needs, so she can't read them, but she can recognize her name on the envelope and LOVES mail!!!
