Something To Crow About

Hi, everyone! A friend of mine posted a really cute project this week, and I asked her where in the world did she get that adorable cut file. She gave me the link to Treasure Box Designs. Oh my gosh. Have you been over there? The files are available for paper piecing and some for print 'n' cut. You know I love me some print 'n' cut lately, but for today's project I decided to use one of their cut files and paper piece it for you.  (Pssst...... they are having a SALE!)

  • Treasure Box Designs - Cuckoo Critters One
  • Solid cardstock & wood elements from Stampin' Up
  • Pattern Papers from stash
  • "Grass" cut with SU shredding scissors
  • A little inking.... a little foam tape....
  • Tag base from Silhouette store
I love how it turned out! I can't wait to play with some of their Christmas files!

Halloween Treats - Good to the Last BITE

Hi, everyone! I hope you are having a fabulous week so far. On Monday I asked my husband, Tom, if he wanted me to make treats for him to take to work on Friday. I told him if that would embarrass him, I understood, and between you and me, I really didn't expect him to want me to. But he said SURE. Do you know how good that made me feel?!  So my next question was okay, how many co-workers will be there Friday. He said 50! I thought, what in the world have I gotten myself into. LOL

I decided instead of trying to cut paper with one of my electronic die cutting machines (because mass producing and electronic speed do not always go hand in hand), I would use my Sizzix Big Shot. Tom recently bought me a Die Cut from Amazon that I had in the cart that makes a little sleeve / bag type thingie. This would be perfect to stuff a few pieces of candy in!

It was very quick to cut out 50 of them because I was able to run through 4 pattern papers with the die at one time. Joy!

I lined them up, and adhered tear and tape on them all. Folded them. Shazam. I'm on a roll!

Then I stamped and punched out 50 various Halloween tags.  Too easy, drill seargeant.

Got my crop-a-dile to punch holes in a thick stack at once.
Dumped candy all over my desk. Grabbed a few pieces to stuff the bags.

Cut twine and threaded that through the holes and tag.......

It sounds like a lot now that I'm writing this all out, but it really did go quite well. I had my audio book playing on the computer as I worked (worked = played with Halloween candy and treat bags).

Voila!

Finished the treats.

Finished the book.

Left over candy.

Now what?  That wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be to make 50 treats.  I hope everyone enjoys them.

Supplies:
Stampin' Up sets: Sweet Hauntings & Merry Everything for tags
SU Note Punch
SU Happy Hauntings & Martha Stewart Halloween papers
Tear & Tape

Pumpkin Smiles (aka Jack-o-Lantern)

Happy Tuesday! I have another fun size card to share with you today. It's a cute 4x4 square card.

  • Miss Kate Cuttables - Jack-o-Lantern
    • I didn't use the outline shape for the top layer. I liked it better without it. That's one of the great things about Miss Kate Cuttables. Not only do you get easy layering pieces, but you also can pick and choose which layers you want to use or if you want to use the print 'n' cut version - all for the same price. Love it!
  • Leaves - Sizzix metal die cuts (Tim Holtz)
  • Wisteria Wonder & Basic Black Stampin' Up cardstock along with their Happy Hauntings Designer Series paper.
  • Sentiment from Paper Pumpkin's September kit

Boo!

I was wondering if I was going to get a project up on the blog today.

I made a super simple & quick 4x4 card. I already had some Halloween Print 'n' Cuts ready, and I used the Craftin Desert Diva's stitched dies for some of the background pieces and My Favorite Things stitched circle dies. Plus I threw in there a piece of the Stampin' Up Spider Web doily. :) Easy Peasy!

  • Stampin Up - Spider Web Doily
  • Craftin Desert Divas - Pocket Pieces HI dies
  • Stampin' Up Paper Pumpkin Sept kit for sentiment stamp
  • Sil ID# 68115 - Ghost holding Candy Corn print n cut

Shaped Christmas Card

Hi, everyone! Welcome to your weekend where good times, family, friends, and your craftroom awaits. :)

I have a fun shaped Christmas card to share with you today! I saw this in the Silhouette store and immediately clicked on, "add to cart."  So cute!!  This doesn't have to be just a Christmas card, it could be any Autumn or Winter, aka cooler weather, card. Just change up the papers, colors, and sentiments.

This little mouse was screaming googlie eyes at me. Did you hear it too?

Notice that button with the twine bow? Can you believe that's NOT a real button. It's paper and part of the cut file!

Quote reads:
"Maybe Christmas," he thought, "doesn't come from a store."

PDE Linky Party - TREATS

Hi, everyone. I'm so glad you are here. I enjoy our visits and your comments.

Today starts a brand new theme at PDE Linky Party and it's TREATS! This can be ANY kind of treats. Homemade dog treats; treats for Santa; a new crafty TREAT you bought yourself and made a project with; Halloween treats for the kids.... anything! I decided to go with a Halloween treat for my design team post.

When I saw this cut file in the Silhouette store, I giggled. That skeleton's smile is goofy, and I love it.
  • Sil ID# 100331 Skeleton Box
  • Orange tulle and ribbon from stash
  • Spider from the Dollar store .... ewww.... creepy.... which reminds me. Bonnie got a lot of critters like this that day - bugs, spiders, snakes - and I forgot she dropped one of her snakes between the seats. That is going to scare the boogers out of me if I don't remember to go find where it went and get it out of there.
Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.

Project Life ABC Pages

Hi, everyone! I'm so glad you stopped by here today to see what I'm up to in my craft room. I'm sitting at my desk, looking out the window, waiting on UPS to get here with my AVON order.  Did you know I am an AVON lady? You can shop my online store 24/7. I've always loved AVON.

For the second day in a row, I've been lucky enough for my hubby to be working at home. I love it when he does that. I'll sneak in his office every now and then and plop down some candy corn on his desk.

Anyway, onto my crafty project to share with you today.  Have you heard of Fat Mum Slim Photo A Day? It's a cool little blog and Facebook Group where you can get photo prompts every single day. At the beginning of the year I was really good about taking a photo every single day based on the photo prompt, but I started running out of things around my yard and house to take pictures of. LOL Recently, the prompts are letters - going through the alphabet. Okay, now that sounded like tons of fun.

I have a photo folder on my computer of all the photos I've taken with my iPhone, but haven't scrapbooked yet. As I print them for the scrapbook, I move them into a month folder so I don't accidentally forget where I was and scrap them twice.  I went through the photos I haven't scrapped yet and tried for find enough to represent each letter of the alphabet. It started out really easy, but there were a few leftover letters I couldn't find a photo for. Those letters got a Project Life Filler Card instead. Hey, it works. It's all good.

I cut out letters with my Silhouette Cameo and printed up a list of each letter and what the word was for that photo. Example: A is for....autumn.  This was really a lot of fun. You guys should give it a try. It's a great way to include a variety of photos all together that may not have anything to do with each other. I used Project Life Page Pockets Style U for this. That way I could have the entire Alphabet Photo Project contained on one sheet front and back.

You'll notice on the side of my page protector some random paw print washi tape. I accidentally ripped that pocket a little. Oopsie.

I'll show you my front and back pages first, and then list all the Alphabet words after so you can see how I used the words with the photos or filler cards.

A is for... Autumn
B is for... Bonnie
C is for... Cotton Candy
D is for... Dinosaur
E is for... Election
F is for... Fair
G is for... Game Day! Go Cocks!
H is for.. Halloween
I is for... Interesting
J is for... Jimmy
K is for... Keri
L is for.. Lovely

M is for... Meeko
N is for...Nap
O is for... Oh, darling. I love you!
P is for... Panic
Q is for... Quiet Time
R is for... Rainbow
S is for... Flu Shot
T is for... Tom
U is for... Undeniably, You are loved!
V is for... View
W is for... Wyatt
X is for... Xtreme Family Fun
Y is for You, Me, Us
Z is for Zany days

Sometimes I'll make a project and think, "ehh."  But today's project....... love it! Thanks again for swinging by today.  See you tomorrow!!

K-Cup Fun

Hi, everyone! What are you guys up to today? I have an appointment this morning, and then who knows what kind of trouble I'll find to get myself into this afternoon. LOL

I saw some CUTE files over at Miss Kate Cuttables. These print and cuts came from her website, but you can buy just the cut files in the Silhouette store if you have a subscription to there and that works better for you. I used them on another Silhouette cut file for a K-Cup holder. Super simple, and cute too. Gotta love that combination.

  • Miss Kate Cuttables Indian Boy
  • MKC Indian Girl (My daddy taught me when I was very young that I could be anything I wanted when I grew up. For the longest time when adults would ask what did I want to be when I grew up, I'd answer, "An Indian." I never understood why they would laugh at that until I got older. Just goes to show how much I believed everything my daddy said. Think about it though.... Indian girls have long hair they get to braid in pigtails. They get to wear pretty dresses with beads all over them. They get to camp all the time and dance around campfires and ride horses and and and..... Yep, I still want to be an Indian when I grow up.) :)
