Anchors Aweigh!

Good morning! How many of you are in the military or have loved ones who serve? Well, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Conversation with my daddy on Saturday:

Me: "Hey, Daddy. What was the name of the boat you were on in the Navy?"

Daddy: "It's not a BOAT. Submarines are boats."

Me:  "Okay. What was the name of the Battleship you were on?"

Daddy:  "It wasn't a Battleship. It was a Destroyer."

Me:  "What's the difference between a Battleship and a Destroyer?"

Daddy:  "About 4 or 5 football fields."

So after some laughing and "oh my gosh"-ing, I finally got the name of the DESTROYER he was on.

USS Bordelon
DDR-881

I am so very proud of my Daddy for being in the Navy. He served on this ship 1951 to 1961. He was interested in going on to Sonar school, but by the time the opportunity was available, he was married by then and didn't re-enlist.
