I made my very first EVER Side Step Card for these challenges today!
I found that Lori Whitlock has several different types of step cards in the online Silhouette Store, so I downloaded a few of them and thought I'd give them a try.
One of the many things I love about my Cameo, is that when it made the cut for this side step card, it cuts several dashes along the fold lines (instead of one short cut in the middle) and this makes the cardstock want to fold exactly how it should. Another wonderful thing about this cut file is that not only does it cut and perforate the fold lines, but it also has the pattern paper mats already sized to fit this card! Way cool. They've thought of everything!

Here's what I did.....

First I cut the side step base, pattern papers, inked around the edges, and adhered to my card.

Pattern papers from K&C "Lion Sleeps"
Pink paper inked with Stampin' Up "Cameo Coral"
Turquoise paper inked with Close To My Heart "Lagoon"

Then I imported some Lettering Delights Fishy goodness into my Silhouette software.
I placed the colored and grouped SVG off to the side of my mat (so it wouldn't cut);
copied that;
pasted the copy on my mat;
ungrouped the copy that was on my mat;
and slide the different colored layers around for cutting.
