CardzTV Cricut Cardz Ch#97: A Caroling We'll Go!

The brand new CardzTV Cricut Card Challenge starts today! This is a short challenge. It will only run for one week. We'll have a new challenge next Wednesday and then be on Christmas Holiday until we start the challenges again in January of the new year 2012!

Mary has chosen this challenge to be titled "A Caroling We'll Go!"  We are asked to make a Christmas Card based on our favorite Christmas song using any Cricut cartridge and colors we would like.

Project #304 of this year
I chose JINGLE BELLS for one of my favorite Christmas songs...... Dashing through the snow.... in a one horse open sleigh.....

Card base is from Recollections. The blue glittery background paper is from DCWV.  The music background paper is from Echo Park's Holly Jolly Christmas kit.  The Sleigh & Elf are both from PAPER DOLL DRESS UP Cricut cartridge.  Doll was cut with Blackout feature from page 29 @ 3 1/2". I actually ended up cutting her body off under her shirt since I didn't need her legs or pants or anything.

The Elf's face was stamped using Peachy Keen Stamps PK-531 "Simple Sallies Face Assortment". I used the 3/4" size.  Her cheeks were shaded with red chalk.

The Elf's shirt, hat, collar, and hair were all cut from the Elf accessories / clothing from page 74.  I cut the hat and shirt twice - once in green and once in white glitter paper from DCWV.  Then I trimmed off the hat and shirt cuffs to add a little more character to her clothing.  The buttons on her shirt are tiny black rhinestones.

The Christmas Sleigh is also cut from this same page @ 3 1/2". All of these cuts are on the keypad overlay Row5, Column 6.  I ran the sleigh through the Cuttlebug using the Divine Swirls embossing folder.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I hope you will decide to find the time this week to enter your own Cricut Christmas card based on your favorite Christmas song. Make sure you visit the other members of our Design Team and see the beautiful cards they've made to inspire you.

Merry Christmas! :) Janis
