Halloween Pocket Letter #2

Thanks for visiting with me today!
So excited to share another pocket letter with you.

Now, if you saw the one from yesterday, you are going to notice that the sent to pocket and the name pocket are on this one too. That's because I ended up using the one yesterday for someone else. I swapped out those 2 pockets with something different.

Here's the front... man I need to get some washi tape.

And here's the back.
The white coin envelopes have goodies inside - whatever the items are on the outside. So one has googlie eyes, and one has buttons, etc.

These are fun. I'm still not sure I'm doing them right. But I'm having fun and hopefully the person receiving these will enjoy them too.

See you tomorrow!
The start of BOO month!!

BOO!

Pocket Letter: Halloween #1

Welcome to a brand new week of your life. Make it a great one!

Today I'm going to share with you a pocket letter I made for a Facebook swap group. I haven't made but a few Pocket Letters, so I'm still trying to decide what's enough, what's too much, etc when I build one. Hopefully my swap partner will like this one.

Front
Several of the pockets have ribbon or twine wrapped around the inserts.
Tiny clothes pins
puffy stickers
die cuts
sticker sentiments

Back
The back has little goodies, info, letter, and short little tidbits of my day. I also included a date card for when this was mailed - from who - to who... And I looked up the meaning of the name of the lady I'm swapping with and wrote that definition and pronunciation on a little silhouette of a woman.

It's a little chunky for the envelope, so I added extra postage to it.
Hopefully, she will enjoy it.

If you are a pocket letter seasoned pro, please feel free to give me advice, tips, and tricks on how to make a great one. I wanted to add some washi tape to the part where the holes are for a binder, but low and behold, I have no washi tape. I know. Gasp, right? Just never gotten into that. But it seems I need to start a collection now for these.

Thanks for visiting with me today!
Smiles!

Craft Room Chat

Good morning! My craft room is upstairs now.

//throw confettii//

It's not all organized yet, but at least I got almost everything up here. I love all the sunlight and having a big room to myself!

There is an area of the roof we need to repair on one side of the room, so until then, I can't push anything up against that wall. I'm using tables right now for desks, but Tom will be custom building me some desks and storage units / cubbies / etc eventually.

I'm going to share some pictures with you, but no judging! LOL I know it's a mess. You can't see inside the closet, but just picture it stuffed. :)

The walls are lavender and the ceiling is gray.

Tom sanded the floors and we sealed them with whatever stuff you use to do that on floors. LOL It's so cool to imagine that people have been walking on these floors since the 1890s. We just love this old, historic house.

Obviously the windows and trim aren't finished. But, we are working on things and hope to have it completed one day.

The cardboard in front of the fireplace is because we need to seal that so the wind doesn't blow grime and cover my crafty toys.

I put the doggie blanket down because Ginger & Mary Ann go back and forth from laying in my craft room to laying on the couch in Tom's office.

I had to put some stuffed animals on the mantel we bought in Alaska.

Thanks for indulging me in my excitement over getting the craft room upstairs. Hope everyone is well and has a really good day.

Hugs!
:) Janis

P. S. I'll post a card in a few minutes.

Fall is Coming!

Good afternoon / morning / evening!

Did you have a nice Labor Day long weekend?

We worked on the house renovations. Tom was up in the attic, under the house, inside, outside, upstairs and downstairs. We got some things checked off our list, and are slowly making steps toward moving our bedrooms upstairs. We may even start painting the outside this month!

Here's a simple card from the Silhouette store.

I only used the Silhouette cut file for the leaves. Everything else was hand cut or die cut.

Pattern papers - Carta Bella, Fall Break 6x6 pad
Stitched border die

I really like cutting the bottom off the front of a card and having pattern paper showing from the inside.

Enjoy your day!

A7 Wheat Thankful Card

OKay, so I'm not thrilled about how this card came out. It was so pretty in the Silhouette store, but I don't like the papers I chose or that I added shimmer on the wheat stalk in the middle of the bunch. Oh well, thought I'd share it with you today anyway. It would have been prettier with some pattern papers, but since it's a larger size card, I didn't have any papers that were "Fall-ish" larger than 6x6 I could use.

Silhouette store A7 card design
Trendy Twine
Shimmer pen
Enamel dots

On a good note, I'm going to cut out some leaves for our monthly frig calendar. That is always fun for me. :)
Enjoy your evening.

Back to School

I hope all of you are doing well. I can't believe all this 'Rona stuff is still going on. Good grief. Enough already!

The good news is though that it's inches away from Fall weather. Woo-hoo!

In honor of all of the teachers, staff, lunch ladies, janitors, and special related arts... Welcome back to school! May this year bring unexpected smiles and happy days for all of you.

Parents - hang in there! I saw a lady wearing a t-shirt yesterday day that said, "Livin' on hand sanitizer & prayer." Good attitude!

This fun fold card file is from Lori Whitlock.
Anna Griffin cardstock (so pretty - that woman is amazing)
This would be great for teachers and librarians too.
You can also change the wording on the card insert to say something else.
I plan on making more of this fun fold type card for different occasions.
Easy peasy and so cute!
Lori Whitlock rocks!

Enjoy your weekend.
Thank you so much for all of your comments. They have kept me going through our transition of closing our small town store.
Hopefully, I can start to get more projects out now that I'm starting to get my temporary craft space at home set up.

If no one has told you today, hear this:

YOU MATTER

Big, big hugs!
