Here are a few projects I made using this stamp set:

MFPS June #20

Let me tell you a little bit about this card / post-it note holder. They are NOT hard to make. I promise!

1 strip of cardstock cut @ 4 1/4" x 11" (card base)
Score @ 5 1/2" (as if folding it in half for a card)
Score again @ 2 3/4" (this is the extra fold you'll attach your top piece to to make it "stand up")
1 piece of cardstock 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" (this is your top, decorated piece and "outside" of card)
Decorate the top piece as you normally would but then only attach it at the bottom to the card base fold
Decorate the bottom half of the "inside" and attach the decorations with foam tape so that when the card is opened, it will lean against the raised portion and stay open. If you add a Post-it note pad here, you will not need additional foam tape.

For this particular Post-It note holder, here are the details:

For TOP piece:

Black cardstock cut @ 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
Solid blue cardstock cut @ 5 1/4" x 4"
Gingham blue cardstock cut @ 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"
Sentiment stamp "Cool Breezes" from Mark's Finest Papers & Stamps set "Island Life" stamped near the bottom FIRST so that I know everything else I add will not accidentally cover up the sentiment (yes, we learn from our mistakes LOL)

Strip on side of TOP piece:

Black cardstock cut @ 2 3/8" x 5 1/8"
Solid blue cardstock cut @ 2 1/4" x 5"
pattern cardstock cut @ 2 1/2" x 4 7/8" (this piece ran through Cuttlebug with folder D'vine Swirl)
Grass at bottom cut @ 1 1/2" using Cricut cart CREATE A CRITTER p. 45
Windmill cut @ 4 1/2" using Cricut cart COUNTRY LIFE p. 63
Clouds cut @ 1" and 1/2" using Cricut cart CREATE A CRITTER p. 52 and inked around the edges with blue chalk ink
Sun cut @ 1 1/2" using Cricut cart DoodleCharms p. 96 and run through Cuttlebug with folder Spots
Ribbon, button, and jute added for embelishments

Bottom piece holder post-it note:

Black cardstock cut @ 4 1/8" x 3 3/8"
Blue gingham cardstock cut @ 4" x 3 1/4"
Post-it Note pad added with ATG

This project will close as if it's a card and will fit into a regular A2 size envelope. However, it will be THICK, so extra postage should be expected if mailing.

With the above 2 projects, I just wanted to show you that sometimes you can mat your images on cards, and sometimes Clean and Simple (CAS) gives a nice effect too.

What's Brewing?

I'm so excited because I was able to have a friend of mine pick up the LOVE YOU A LATTE Cricut Lite cart at her Walmart and mail it to me since our Walmarts around here don't have any Cricut goodies. In fact the scrapbooking papers they have that I used on this card are marked down to $2.50 for a 12"x12" pad. Huh? What is going on Walmart. I mean, I like a good deal and all, but you guys need to re-stock the scrapbooking goodness. Just sayin'.

Jute added for embellishment (this stuff is more than a year old!)
The metal and bead hanging from the button is actually leftover goodness from my daughter. She used to make tons of earings when she was in highschool (that was more than 4 years ago). This stuff has been sitting in a box not being used, so she passed it on to me and said maybe i can use some of it on my cards. Ummmm.... Yes!

The sentiment is stamped on the back of a ticket (I bought a huge ticket roll from Walmart and use them for so many sentiments! Perfect size!)
Everything is inked around the edges with Tim Holtz Tea Dye distress ink

I craft in our daughter, Bonnie's, bedroom. We are in a small apartment, and there just isn't anywhere else for me to set up my Cricut and papers. So she shares her room with me when I craft. Lately she has been wanting to help me. She held the jute cardboard thingie and untwisted it while I was wrapping it around the bottom of my card. Then she held down the card pieces while I was deciding how to lay this out. She's so cute. I probably should mention for those of you who are new here, that Bonnie has special needs. She's completely precious. Just wanted to share.

Image colored with chalks
I stamped the image very lightly with a brown suede ink. I didn't want sharp, black lines, but rather more of a soft feel to this image.
It's hard to tell by this photo, but the image background is also lightly chalked with sunrise/sunset shades with a pink / lavender hue.

Good morning! I can't wait to show you the Easel Card I made today that's also a Post-It note holder for your desk. A few of my friends are creating these Easel Card post-it note holders and it just looked like way too much fun not to create one myself. :)

These are not hard to make! I promise!

You'll need 2 pieces of cardstock: 1 for the base and one for the pop-up
Base: 11" x 4 1/4" - score at 2 3/4" and again at 5 1/2". You can see the score lines on the side-view above
Pop-up piece is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2": you will attached this (after decorated) only with the bottom half to the scored piece of the base
POP-UP PIECE:

4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
purple mat cut @ 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
green mat cut @ 5 1/4" x 4"
Purple strip cut @ 1 1/4" x 4"
Pink strip cut @ 1" x 3 3/4"
Twine and button added
Banner hand cut for sentiment matting
CREATE A CRITTER Racoon p. 33 cut @ 3 1/2" (this cart is over 6 months old, but I just don't ever get tired of using it!)
Sentiment from TSQ Royal Castle Shoppe "Royal Garden" stamp set

Bottom (inside):

3 3/4" x 2 1/2" for decorated bottom piece
You'll either have to use pop dots to attached bottom piece so card will stay open
OR
attach a Post-It note pad here and this will allow card to stay open as well

This is so fun! I hope you'll go make some of these and give them as thank you gifts to all those people that make your day a lot easier... like the receptionist at the doctor's office or the receptionist at the complex where you live or your secretary or someone else you now that would enjoy this on their desk. They will think of you every time they reach for a post-it note!
