Owl 1437 (Owl Series #1)

Good morning!
This is the 1st in the Owl Series. I'll be posting lots more owl cards in the next couple of weeks. :)

Today I want to share a very special card with you.

When my husband & I were dating, we used the term "1437" as another way of saying, "I Love You Bunches". This is because I has 1 letter, Love has 4, You - 3, and Bunches has 7 letters. We would write this on letters & cards that we gave each other and just say, "1437" at times. When we had children, we continued to use the term with them. We all still use it today.  The card I made today is for my hubby.

Hey, Tom, 1437!

Project #322 of this year
Card base is Kraft cardstock 5 1/2" x 4".
Background paper cut @ 5" x 3 3/4" from DCWV Cotton Bloom Stack.

I have a handful of OWL cards already made using my new HOOT 'N' HOLLER Cricut cartridge. So expect to see a card made with every owl in that Lite cartridge over the next weeks. :) Sounds like a HOOT, huh?

This is my submission for INSPIRE ME FRIDAYS!

OWL be seeing you tomorrow. :) Janis

Dark red A2 size card base (5 1/2" x 4 1/4")

Enjoy your day!  I'm enjoying the beautiful snow we got last weekend. We got over 10 inches of snow! I love it!  And it was 2 degrees outside this morning when my hubby went to work. Yikes. Glad I didn't have to go outside. Smiles! :) Janis

CardzTV Cricut Cardz Ch#95: "We're So Thankful"

Good morning! Welcome to my blog where I love to post things I'm crafting. I really appreciate you stopping by today. My post today is all about CARDZTV CRICUT CARD CH# 95, "We're So Thankful". I love being on Mary's CardzTV Design Team! She comes up with the best ideas for challenges & makes the best cards!

For Ch#95, Mary has asked us to make a Cricut Card using the Card Feature on any Cricut cartridge we'd like and using any colors we'd like.  We hope you'll stop by CardzTV and play along in this challenge with us!

Project #302 of this year
For My card, I used the Card Feature on the SWEETHEARTS Cricut Cartridge on page 81.

I cut both the card envelope and the card at 5 1/2" using K&Co papers from their Primary Basic stack.  You can find both of these cuts on the keypad overlay Row 5, Column 10.

The mats for the outside of the envelope were cut @ 3 3/4" x 4 5/8" for the darker green mat. The light green mat was cut @ 3 1/2" x 4 1/4".

For the pumpkin on the inside card and on the outside of the envelope, I used the pumpkin from the FRESHLY PICKED cartridge. Mary used this same pumpkin on a project in October, and I liked the simplicity of just the 2 cuts for it. The pumpkin on the top of the card piece (pull tab) was cut @ 2 1/2". The pumpkin on the outside of the envelope was cut @ 4". This pumpkin can be found on page 68 of the handbook, and on the keypad overlay at Row 5, Column 1.

I inked around the outside envelope, mats, and pumpkin cuts. I used brown chalk to define the pumpkin creases.

Come play with us at CARDZTV! We can't wait to see what you come up with. And make sure you take a look at what all the other Designers created to inspire you for this challenge. This team is so talented!

Pumpkin Hugs... :) Janis
