May I just Say... WOW

Hi, everyone! I have some exciting news.
There is a brand new photo inspiration challenge blog starting up.
(Okay, I may have something to do with that.)

Nana & I decided to embark on this new adventure.
There is a practice challenge up now through March 5.
Then starting Sunday, March 6 there will be a new challenge every other Sunday.

The photo inspiration to practice with right now is...

Here's How it Works:
  • From this photo maybe you like the water and decide to make a mermaid card.
  • Maybe you like the pattern on the turtle's shell and decide to make a beehive background on your tag.
  • Maybe you fall in love with the color scheme and use blue, turquoise, yellow, and orange on your scrapbook layout.
  • Maybe you like the layout and decide to create a project with the main image or focus on the bottom left corner.
  • Maybe this makes you think of summer and the beach or swimming and you go that route.

I decided to make a card for the practice round too. Here is is!

Papers from American Crafts, #Summer
Sentiment from Paper Smoochies
Precolored digi from Stinkin' Cute Paper Piecings

We hope you'll come link up!

My Design Team Project

I decided to use the banners from this photo as my card inspiration. That's the great thing about the PINspirational challenges. Anything from the photo that inspires you, you can use on your project. It could be the colors, shapes, images, etc.

Sil ID# 78940 Simple Stories Bike
Sil ID# 78939 Simple Stories Banner
The background is actually a Project Life card from the Super Cute Value Kit. I trimmed it a little and rounded the edge I trimmed to match the other edge that was already rounded.
The bike was adhered with foam tape for dimension
Tiny little Aqua gems were added to the bike and banner.
Super simple, but I love the colors and how it came out.

Thanks for stopping by today. See you tomorrow!!

Happy Valentine's Day - Project Life February Title Page

Hi, everyone! I hope you have a very special Valentine's Day!

Today's Project

Last year was my first year doing Project Life. Each week, and ultimately month toward the end of the year, I would create a title card with either the week number or the month name.

This year I decided to create monthly title pages. I'm having fun with this so far! This is my February title page.

Penny Black, Beau Jardin, 6x6 paper pad
Project Life metal dies for LOVE matting
LOVE cut with Sihouette Cameo
Hearts, arrows, flag ends, and sentiment strip also from the same Project Life metal die set
3D Roses from Anna Griffin card kit
Alphabet stickers spelling February from My Mind's Eye

Thanks for popping in today to see what I'm up to in my craft room.
See you tomorrow!

Gift Box Punch Board PURSE

Hi, everyone!
YouTube is a wonderful thing.
I've been searching for craft ideas using the different We R Memory Keepers Punch Boards. So much fun stuff. You people are talented! I love the way you figure things out and then teach us how to do it too. Thank you!

Today's Project

This purse was created using the Gift Box Punch Board and following the instructions from Papercraft Button's YouTube video HERE

Here are the basic steps for the punch board. But watch the video in case there are any typos here, and to follow the folding and adhesive steps.

Start with 12x12 paper.

Line up at L (large), punch, score down and across.
(Make sure you extend the arm. I forgot to do that at first.)
Slide paper down to XL, score diagonal @ XL.
Repeat for all 4 sides.

Flip paper over.
Line up at Large, punch.
Repeat for all 4 sides.

Fold in 2 opposite triangles and adhere.
This will be the puffed out sides of your purse.
By folding in the triangles instead of cutting them off,
it gives the sides more stability.

Follow video instructions for the rest of the folding, adding adhesive, adhering purse straps, and for the Velcro closure.

Stampin' Up Brights collection (paper)
SU Tempting Turquoise ink
SU Punch Bunch stamp set
My Creative Time Scalloped and Stitched Circle Dies

This was so fun!!
I am slowly collecting all of the We R Memory Keepers Punch Boards. So you'll be seeing a lot of projects using them on my blog.

Thanks for stopping by today!
See you tomorrow!

P.S. Don't forget to link up at PDE Linky Party (always anything goes) and at Paper Play Sketches!
