Good morning, Sunshine!

Whose being Sneaky, Sneaky?

Bonnie loves to be sneaky. When you aren't looking she'll hide the TV remote, or shut a drawer you're looking in and turn away for a second, or hide and peek around at you.  She's so fun.

This card reminds me of her being Sneaky, Sneaky.

Toilet Paper Roll Mini Album Challenge!

Toilet Paper Roll Mini Albums are so easy and fun!

This mini is made with 4 empty toilet paper rolls, flattened, and then covered with decorative paper. All you do next is start adding embellishments and sticking tags inside the end for journaling or photos or both!

A binding ring was added to keep this album together. Ribbon was tied in a knot on the binding ring just to dress it up a bit.  All of the *embellishments are from stash.

Paper Bag Cards Galore!

I am so excited about this new way I've created to make a card out of a paper bag! Don't you just love all things made out of paper bags?!  I made a Birthday Paper Bag Card like this a few days back. Click HERE to see it.

CCC #83 - Joy-Fold Card for Grandma's Birthday

Don't you just love Wednesdays?  That's when Cricut Cardz Challenge posts a new challenge for all of us to make a card with our Cricut!  This week it's time for the team I'm on (Design Team #2) to provide some inspiration for the theme Mary's picked out... which this week is to make a

 BIRTHDAY CARD FOR A GRANDPARENT 

using any colors and Cricut cart you'd like.  

I've decided to make a Birthday Card for a Grandma using a JOY-FOLD card base.

All decorative papers are from DCWV "Vintage Collage Stack".

Black cardstock from Wausau Paper.

Heart cut on outside is from A CHILD'S YEAR page 30 cut @ 3 1/4".

Rose cut on inside is also from A CHILD'S YEAR  page 39 cut @ 3 1/4".

The "happy birthday" clear stamp is from stash.

Here's how to make a JOY-FOLD card:

• Card base (left piece) is cut @ 7 3/4" x 4 1/4" and scored @ 2 1/4"
• Inside base (right piece) is cut @ 7 1/4" x 3 1/2" and scored @ 4"
• Cut 2 pieces @ 2" x 4" and one piece @ 5" x 4" for mats for LEFT part of card
• Cut 2 pieces @ 3 1/4" x 3" and one piece @ 3 3/4" x 3 1/4" for mats for RIGHT part of card
• Center & adhere Inside base (right piece) to inside of Card base (left piece)
• Embellish, decorate, and VOILA!  'Tis completed.

This is the outside of the matchbook mini closed.  You want to be sure not to add a lot of puffy embellishments so that it will end up closing with no problem.

Above you can see it snuggly closed.  Below you can see how much it expands when not tucked under the matchbox cover and closed.

 

Below is the inside cover and first 1/2 page.

All Tags cut from TAGS, BAGS, BOXES & MORE page 89.

Tag for inside front cover cut @ 4" with Shadow Feature.

All other tags cut @ 3 3/4" with Shadow Feature.

 And all of the tags look like this one with the numbers "1, 2, & 3" handwritten on them. 

This is how LONG it is when all the pages are unfolded.  WOW!

Directions for making a 

MATCHBOOK MINI ALBUM:

• Cut cover using Double-Sided Pattern cardstock @ 12" x 4 1/4"
• Score cover @ 1", 6 1/2", and 7". Fold all score lines into matchbook shape.
• Cut inside pages using pattern or solid colored cardstock @ 12" x 4" (3 times)
• Score one page @ 5 1/2" and 9 3/4".  Cut smallest section off of end. Insert the largest section into the matchbook & center it under the small flap, adhering to matchbook.
• Punch 2 holes on front of flap about 1" from each side and secure with brads.  
• Score remaining two pages @ 4 1/4" and 8 1/2".
• Lay matchbook horizontally and adhere remaining two strips overlapping small scored sections and using mountain and valley folds.

You Inspire Me... for Paper Playtime Challenge - SUMMER

It's the 2nd Monday of the Month! That means a brand new challenge started today over on my challenge blog, PAPER PLAYTIME!  For Ch#50 make any project, with any colors using any type of media you want as long as it has a SUMMER theme.

Here is my SUMMER card:

Cardbase is white cardstock from Walmart.

Background papers are from K&Co "The Best of Brenda Walton".

Pink dotted paper cut @ 5 1/4" x 4".

Gingham strip cut @ 5 1/4" x 1". 

Solid papers for die cut are from ColorBok & Recollections.

*Pink & *Green Glass Beads from stash.

Clear sentiment stamp "you inspire me" from Hero Arts.

Want to hear the funny stuff about making this card?

I put the green glass beads on before I stamped the sentiment.

Well, d'uh, the acrylic block was hitting the glass bead, not letting the sentiment press down flat, so only the first half was showing.  I ripped off the glass bead, which tore the paper underneath.  Arghhh.  And then I stamped over the partial sentiment hoping I had it lined up right as to not get an "out of focus" appearance to the words.  I can't believe I actually hit the letters dead on, but in my haste to stamp over what was partially already showing, I tilted the block and thus the sentiment came out crooked.  Then I re-attached the green glass bead.  After all that, I didn't really care that it was crooked. LOL  I was just impressed I got the sentiment on there without a shadow effect.  I mean really... who wants to be perfect?  There's too much pressure for that.  And if someone wanted a perfect card, they could buy one at the store, right?  This just gives my card creation character..... that's what I keep telling myself anyway. hahahaha

Hoooooo's Having a Birthday?

This card is actually a *YELLOW BAG from a Celebration pack of bags from Michaels. The bags measure 

4 5/8" x 2 7/8" x 8 5/8", 

and they come 12 in a pack.  I thought it would be neat-o mosquito to make a birthday card out of it.  I just folded it in half so the top of the bag's opening was on the left.  And the bottom flap I folded back and forth so it would easily flip as an extra fun fold when opening the "card".

This is the outside above. You can see how the bottom of the bag is slightly folded and will fold back & forth for the recipient.

This is the other side of the bottom fold above.

And this is the "card" completely open.

There is a tag with some *fiber "ribbon" stuck into the opening of the bag in the above pic.

And here is the tag pulled out.  This is the first time I've used any spray mist for the background. Oh my gosh! That stuff got all over my hands and went everywhere. LOL  Note to Self:  Little Squirts are enough!

Heart 2 cut @ 4 1/4" with Shadow feature.

All solid papers from Colorbok pack from Walmart.

Sentiment clear stamps from stash using StazOn Jet Black ink.
