YOU'RE NUTS

Are you having a fun day?  I sure have been!  Here's another card I made this evening with a cut I received from Carley (click her name to visit her blog) in our Cut Swap.  She has carts I don't have and I have carts she doesn't have, so we made a wish list of what we'd love to have.  Then I cut images for her and she cut some for me and we swapped them.  How fun!  I love getting mail, and I was so looking forward to getting these cuts!

This little nutty squirrel is from Stretch Your Imagination.  The background tree paper is from DCWV The Autumn Splendor Stack and so is the little yellow mat I used to frame the squirrel cut.  Ribbon and jute from Joann's or Michael's.  I printed the sentiment on the computer using PrintMaster.  The font is Andalus @ 18pt. I used ink from ColorBox around the sentiment edges and framed it with some more of that yellow paper that I have behind the squirrel.  And yes!  Googlie eyes!!  (Every chance I get - I love those things!)  Have a restful night.  See you guys tomorrow!  Oh, and thank you all for subscribing and your wonderful, encouraging comments.  You guys are so sweet!  I almost forgot, the sentiment says, "You're the Nut that keeps me Balance."  LOL

PUMPKIN PATCH

Hey!  I recently did a Cricut Cut Swap with a couple of ladies.  This was so much fun!!  The card above was made with an image sent from Carley at The Real iCarley. Go visit her blog and look at all her cool creations!

I'm just tickled with how this pumpkin card came out!
Card base is Black from Value Pack (pre-scored for easy folding!)
Yellow background mat cut @ 5 1/8" x 4" from DCWV The Autumn Splendor stack.
The Sentiment mat is also from that same Autumn Splendor stack.
The black strip with candy corn and glittered green candy is from Cloud 9 Designs.  I used my Treading Water punch at the bottom of it.
Ribbon, button, and jute from Michael's or Joann's.

Please scroll down for 2 earlier posts today and videos.
Thank you guys for all your sweet comments and for subscribing!!  I appreciate you all so much!

MINI BOOK "HOW TO" DEMO

Recently I showed you a Mini Book I made inspired by one received in the mail as a surprise.  (I love surprises in the mail!)  These are so easy to make and so fun to do!

Here is another one I made over the weekend:

You could put quotes and scenes on the same side, but I liked this one this way.  Don't worry, I have more strips already cut that need to become little Mini Books.  So I'm sure I'll mix things up a bit as I make more of them.

The quotes say:
  • "Perhaps imagination is only intelligence having fun." ~Unknown Author
  • "I found I could say things with color & shapes that I couldn't say any other way - things I had no words for." ~George O'Keeffe
  • "I saw the angel in the marble & I carved until I set him free." ~Michaelangelo
  • "Art is the colors & textures of your imagination." ~Meghan, Los Carros Middle School, 1999
I printed them on the computer using PrintMaster. I used Trebuchet MS font at 12pt.  I then printed them on a label sheet so I could just peel them off of that and stick them to the little hanging boxes I had made.  I just love those hanging boxes.  :)

If you have any questions about this project or need more info on how to make a project like this, please do not hesitate to ask me.  (Make sure you leave your email so I can respond to you!)

Have a GREAT day, guys!  Hugs!

UPDATE:  Hi, guys!  I just got a message from The Handmade Card Blog.  She made a project from this idea.  I love it when you guys take the time to give me the links to projects you've made from one of my videos or posts!  Thank you so much!  Go check out her project and browse her blog!

IF THE SHOE FITS... BUY ONE OF EVERY COLOR!

Isn't she just precious.  She's been playing hard today - see her dirty face?  :)
And before you ask me where her hair is,
this little princess is in honor of all children who are cancer patient survivors!
I made this card with PAPER PLAYTIME'S Challenge #16 theme this week:
"If the shoe fits, buy one of every color"

Card base Lavender from Value pack (pre-scored for easy folding!)
Background papers from scraps but probably DCWV
Solid papers from Recollections
Cricut Cartridge:  PAPER DOLL DRESS UP
Dress Up Girl page 38 cut @ 3 1/2"
Shoes randomly selected from cart - cut @ 1" on Real Dial Size
Phrase printed from computer using CK Storybook @ 18 pt.

I hope you'll hop over to Paper Playtime and play along with us this week!

HAPPY MINI BOOK

This project is inspired by the surprise I got in the mail yesterday from Melissa at http://melissa-moecreations.blogspot.com/.  I've made these accordion Mini Books before, but not this size.  I really like this size!

I took a 12" x 12" piece of DCWV cardstock and cut it in strips.  So each strip came out to be 4" x 12".  Then I put that in my Martha Stewart Scoring Board and scored every 3" and accordion folded it.  Fan folded it.  Mountain and valley folded it.  You get the picture.  :)

I used papers from Cloud 9 Designs for background mats.  All the cuts are from Plantin SchoolBook using papers from Recollections.

All embellishments are from Michael's and Joann's.

This was really FUN!!!

On the side I haven't embellished yet, I'm going to put quotes or happy thoughts or sayings.  Something you can leave on your desk for a while that will make you smile.  Every body needs a "hug" or a smile now and then.  That's why I'm calling this MY HAPPY BOOK.  :)

This is my submission for Paper Cutz Challenge #58 to use tags in your project.

Thanks for stopping by and all the comments you guys always leave me!  If you have any questions, just ask.  Make sure you leave your email so I can respond.  Someone left me a question a few days ago and I can't get back in touch with them because they don't have a blog or an email attached to their comment.  That makes me feel bad.  I'm NOT IGNORING YOU!

Much love and hugs.... oh and    LET'S GO GAMECOCKS!  I live in Augusta, Georiga, but am from South Carolina.  Augusta is right on the border of GA and SC.  Tomorrow The Georgia Bulldogs are playing our Carolina Gamecocks.  There is a lot of excitement in the air in this town with huge downtown BORDER BASH parties in the park and stuff.  No, I won't be attending any parties, but I will be supporting our Gamecocks from home tomorrow!  Woo-Hoo!  Get out your pom-poms!

52Q WEEK 6 - WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE SEASON

Can you believe we are already on Week 6 of our Mini Me Book?!
This week your question is simple:  What's your favorite season?
Mine is FALL!  I love the orange, browns, and golds; pumpkins, scarecrows, hayrides, Halloween, Thanksgiving... all that jazz.
For my page I used pattern paper from DCWV Autumn Splendor stack.  The tree is all glittery, and so is the Fall tag.  This is a gorgeous paper stack for Autumn!
Submit your page with the blue button below!  Remember, you can see all the previous by clicking 52Q on the top of my blog.  You can add your page for any week at any time until we are finished with a year's worth of questions next August.  Sweet!
Have a fun week!!

MANI PEDI TIME!

Isn't she just too loveable?!  Check out that fresh Mani / Pedi.  I can just hear her saying something like, "Don't make me scratch you with my new nails I just got done.  You don't want to go there."  LOL

This digi stamp is from DIGITAL DELIGHTS BY LOUBY LOO.
They made this and a few others just for our theme this week over at PAPER PLAYTIME!
How cool is that?!

Papers are from DCWV Nana's Kids.  The top diamond paper has glitter and the bottom bubble paper is embossed.  I love this stack.  I may have to get another one soon.

Ribbon from Michael's.

"Lovable" stamp from Recollections inked with Colorbox Chalk ink.

Have a fun day!  I hope you'll come over and visit us at Paper Playtime and play along with this week's challenge.  The theme is "CASTLES, KNIGHTS, & DAMSELS IN DISTRESS".  Interpret it any way you like, and make any kind of project you like as long as it's made with paper.  You can Cricut, Stamp, Embellish - whatever you are in the mood for.
Hugs,

Janis

CRICUT CUT SWAP INVITATION

Good morning!  Yeah - our college football team won last night!  What a way to start the season!  Woo-Hoo!  Go Cocks!!

I've heard from some of you guys who are interested in doing a Cricut Cut Swap.  That's a good idea!

If you want to participate, just add your name below with the blue button.  I'll leave this open until Monday midnight.  On Tuesday I'll post a list of who is swapping with who.  I'll leave it up to you guys then to trade addresses and cut selections.

This is how it will work...
  1. All cuts must be Cricut cuts.
  2. You agree to swap at least 10 Cricut Cuts with a partner randomly selected and posted here on Monday.
  3. All cuts will need to be a maximum of 4 1/2" tall, but can be smaller.  This will allow the cuts to fit on a regular A2 size card or other project.
  4. All cuts will be assembled by you before mailing out, but not enhanced in any other way.  The recipient can then enhance how she wishes.  For example, she can then add googlie eyes, ribbon, flowers, rhinestones, etc if that's what she wants to do for her project.
Once you and your assigned partner get in touch with each other, of course, you can decide among yourselves if you want to swap more than 10 cuts, but 10 will be the minimum to play along.

After leaving your name using the blue button below, please email me your email address so I can give it to your swap partner.  You can email me at northrose at slowar dot com.  Please put "CRICUT CUT SWAP" in the subject line. I'm excited!  This is going to be fun!!

52Q WEEK 5 - WHAT GOOD THING HAPPENED TO YOU THIS WEEK?

Thanks to everyone who is playing along with us!
If you are just joining in on the fun, CLICK HERE to see all the questions so far.

At any time you can post a link to your project from any week's post.  :)

This week's question suggested by Joyce @  http://knightqueen.blogspot.com/
This week Question 5 is:
WHAT GOOD THING HAPPENED TO YOU THIS WEEK?
Now, I know the week has just begun, so feel free to write about any good thing that has happened to you recently.  I chose to write about our 24th Wedding Anniversary last week.
For my page, I used an A2 size card sealed on the bottom and sides leaving the top open.  I put a tag inside the card from the top that can easily pull out.
The outside cuts are from Cricut Cartridge PAPER PUPS.
The puppies and butterflies are on page 89 cut @ 2 1/2" and I used the FLIP button for one of the puppies so they would be facing each other.
The Love Heart is on page 104 also cut @ 2 1/2".
I printed the question on the computer using CK Constitution font @ 15pt.
Papers are from DCWV glitter stack - I think Nana's Kids.
I added Googlie eyes, jute, ribbon, and a button.

Enjoy your week!  See you next week for the next Question in your Mini Me Book!!
