Rose Card & Jewelry Winner

This was a fun card to make and easy. 

The card base is bright green from a Value Pack pre-scored for folding.

The pattern paper is from my scap bucket, so not sure what paper pack it came from.

The purple base behind the flower is another card from a value pack I just cut.  There is also another piece of that same card on the inside for writing a sentiment.

Yes, this is another S-Fold card - they are addictive!

The flower is cut from Cricut cartridge - Walk In My Garden.  It's cut a 5".  I cut a shadow for it using lavender.  The top of the flower was cut twice and then popped up for dimension with a Pop Dot.  The purple ribbon is some my Mama gave me a while back.

I wrote numbers down on paper representing the order of comments that were made on the jewelry post last week.  Bonnie drew a winner and she picked Mary!  Congratulations!  I'll be sending out these pieces for you to use in your card making, scrapbooking, or whatever.  Have fun!

Sun, Moon, & Stars Card

And for card #3 today.... 

Once again, I used a white card base that was a regular 8.5" x 11" piece of cardstock, cut in half, then folded.

The sun, moon, and stars are from Cricut Cartridge - Paper Pups.

The beautiful, textured blue accent paper is from DCWV and I think it's called Old World.

"Beautiful Life" is a vellum sentiment from ColorBok.

I may use this card as a New Baby congrats card.  I love the soft colors of it.

Hello all my Bloggy Friends!!

Here's another card I made today.  So fun!

Mailbox is from Cricut Cartridge Doodlecharms.

Background paper is from K & Company - Berry Sweet.  I just adore this paper.  I don't think it's going to last very long.  :)  The green swirly embossed paper is from a swap, so I don't know the name of the Cuddlebug folder used or the name of the green.  Sorry.

The mailbox is adhered with Pop Dots.  Actually, you want to know something really funny?  I've been out of Pop Dots for a while now.  I'm actually cutting around the holes where the Pop Dots were and using the rest of it.  LOL  Hey, waste not, want not, right?

Very simple card made today.  I used white cardstock 8.5"x11" cut in half and then folded in half to make the card base.

Puppy / Cat cut from Cricut Cartridge Paper Pups. Adhered using Pop Dots.

"Thank You" dot fabric stitched sticker from ColorBok.

Background paper from DCWV The Stack 6.

Question about Vinyl

Can anyone please tell me where they purchase their vinyl to cut with the Cricut?  I remember Robyn over at MyPinkStamper.com recommending a place she said had the best prices, but I can't find that post on her blog. 

My husband wants me to cut something for his truck window.  I've never cut vinyl before and don't even know if there is an "all weather" kind or if it's all the same.

Please give this girl some info from your experience.

Berry Sweet Card

I went shopping today at Joann's and Michael's! Wooo-Whooo!  I brought home the sweetest paper by K & Company.  It's called "Berry Sweet," and it's double sided gorgeousness.  Is that a word?  Well, it is now. :)

I needed a Get Well card, so I made one fast with this paper.  The stack is 8.5" x 8.5".  I pulled out a sheet, and cut it in half for the card.  I didn't add any images or other paper except for a small purple piece to write a sentiment on.  (Wow, I've used purple a lot lately.)

I used 2 of the Prima flowers kept together and on the card with a pink flower brad.  The I put a Zot on a small very light blue glass marble to the center of the flower.  So pretty.  The chipboard tag is from ColorBok and says, "Wishing You a Speedy Recovery."

Fun Colors!

I actually drove in the ice and snow today to go off for a while by myself.  I went to the library, the post office, Michael's and Joann's.  So much fun!  Look at all these beautiful, bright colors!

I had a 50% off coupon for Michael's and for Joanns.  Yeah!  At Michael's everything I bought was on sale except one item and it was only $2.  LOL  I had actually picked up a tin of Prima flowers which were $9 and thought I'd use the coupon for that, but they rang up on sale for $5.45.  I've been wanting flowers for so long and have never bought them, so I'm super excited about using them.

At Joann's I got lots of ribbon that was on sale for $1 and $1.49.  Plus I got some glass marbles I'm going to try to use on my cards if they aren't too heavy.  I guess we'll find out about that soon enough.  :)

S Fold Card

This is the first time I've made an S-Fold card.  Pretty easy and cool looking.

I originally was going to enter this into the Cricut Cardz Challenge this week, but then realized I didn't use any Cricut cuts on this card.  Oh well.  Maybe I'll make another for the challenge.

In the meantime, here's my card!

I used a medium brown card base that was in a Value Pack (pre-cut and scored).

The maroon square was from DCWV textured mat stack pre-cut to this size. 3.875" x 3.875"

The tags on front and inside are from ColorBok with hand written sentiments.

The star brad on the front tag is from ColorBok.

The brown ribbon on the inside tag is from stash.

The adorable heart and puppy dog prints is from DCWV The Stack 6.

And Oscar eating a sub is from a stack of Sesame Street word cards from The Dollar Tree.

This was too fun!

Good Afternoon, Cupcake!

The paper details didn't come out quite as detailed as I would have hoped in the picture.

The yellow paper used for the icing actually has tiny white polka dots on it.  So cute.  Looks like sprinkles or confetti on icing.

I made this birthday card today with a smile on my face the entire time.

The card base is dark purple. 4 1/2" x 5 3/4"

Happy 101

Hello, all my bloggy friends!


I have met so many wonderful friends through blogging!  Here in the blogging world you will find so many nice people who are so generous, kind, talented, and always willing to share ideas, tips, and of course instructional posts and videos which I love.

This morning I was happily surprised to receive this Happy 101 Award from one of the ladies I've met here in this world whom I now love dearly - Mary.  Please visit her blog.  She has so much talent to share.  Her instructional videos are very easy to understand and follow, and she always gives you the measurements you need.  I love the way she shows the project she is going to make, and then makes it all over again before your eyes piece by piece.  Thank you for this award, Mary!

In accepting this award, I'm to list 10 things that make me happy!

1. My knight in shining amour - my hubby, Tom.

2. My 3 children who are now out on their own, but still call me daily!

3. My 1 darling daughter who still lives at home and makes me laugh and smile everyday!

4. My parents who call to tell me they love and miss me!

5. My brother and sister who call and tell me they love and miss me!

6. Sitting on my porch in the South watching a rain and lightning storm - I miss those days.

Mini Book Series #5: Question

Welcome to the Mini Book Series!  Today for page #5 you are given a question instead of a theme.  Want to play along?  All you have to do is create any kind of mini book you would like using our themes / questions for each week.  Then leave a comment with a link to your creation so we can all go check it out and oooooo and ahhhhhh over your fabulous talent!

Today's Question is:

WHAT KEEPS YOU GOING WHEN YOU ARE BARELY HANGING ON?

The trick for the Mini Book Series is to have the answer inside today's page.

I used sealed envelopes that are cut down one side allowing  a tag or index card to easily slip inside for the answer.

• The paper I used is from My Mind's Eye Everyday Tango.
• The Pooh image is actually from a stack of flash cards I got from The Dollar Tree.  It's matted and popped up with Pop Dots.
• I printed the Question off the computer.
• Twine is pulled through 2 holes punched with my Crop-a-dile at the bottom and I slid a bracelet charm through the twine.
• More bracelet jewelry "spacers" were used on the ribbon on the tag.
• And an earring was used on the bottom of the tag.  I cut off the earring post and used Zots to adhere it to the card.

This was really fun to make.  I actually made this a while back and couldn't wait to include it in my Mini Book.

Craft Books & Weekend Fun

Hello all my bloggy friends!  Did you guys have a fun weekend?  We did!  No, I didn't get my hair cut yet.... I'm making an appointment for Saturday, so I'll post pictures after to see how much I end up getting cut off.

Thank you for the responses on the free crochet books.  I was able to send out quite a few.  There are still some left if anyone else is interested.... just scroll down to a previous post and let me know which books you want and also giving me your email so I can contact you for your address.

I have a few more books if anyone would like them.  Here are pics of them:

We had funs days Saturday and Sunday.  We went to a giant furniture store and daydreamed... 

And we had lunch at Red Robin which none of us had ever been to.  Bonnie had a cheeseburger, Tom had a 5 Alarm burger but said it was only about 1/2 an alarm (he loves hot / spicy food), and I had a Teriyaki burger with pineapple slices and cheese.  Oh my gosh it was delicious!!

AND... Tom took us to a fun gift shop with a 20-foot high chocolate fountain.  Yes,  you heard me right, 20 feet high!  I had to take 2 pictures to get it all and they are a little blurry, but here you go:

Then we rode out to the Eagle River side of Anchorage.  We explored up the mountain, caught some beautiful scenery, and enjoyed watching some people ski down the mountain.  That big, tall, white mountain picture below.... that's the ski mountain.  And yes, those little black dots on the side of the mountain are people skiing even though they just look like specs.  That mountain was HUGE!

Fun Day Planned

Believe it or not, I am planning on getting all my hair cut off today.  Unless I chicken out, of course.  Here's a current pic:

My hair grows really fast, so I just have to remember if I hate it, that it won't be long before it's like this again.  Last time I got it cut about 4 inches and was in culture shock for 2 weeks.  So, this will be a big deal for me. 

Here's keeping my fingers crossed!
