My friend, Mary, launched her own stamp company, CARDZ TV STAMPS, late last year. She has come out with amazing stamp sets! Recently she launched 6 new sets including HERE KITTY. I love this set. One of our daughters, Kati, has a nickname, Kitty Kat. She loves cats. LOVES them. So when Mary came out with HERE KITTY, I knew I had to have it to make cards and projects to send to Kati.

Kati is a Senior at the University of South Carolina. She has an ART GALLERY showing today, so I wanted to make sure this card I made for her using the HERE KITTY stamp set was posted for today. I hope you'll enjoy my card!

A2 size card (5 1/2" x 4 1/4")

Ivory cardstock card base (Recollections).

Black background mat (Recollections) cut @ 5 1/8" x 4 1/8".

Tiny buttons from Hobby Lobby.

Green stripe paper (My Mind's Eye - Everyday Flair) cut @ 5 1/4" x 4".

Diamond paper (same paper pad) cut @ 1" x 4".

Kitty Orange dotted paper from My Mind's Eye - Fly A Kite.

It was cut using PLANTIN SCHOOLBOOK p. 72 using the circle Shadow feature cut @ 3 1/2".

CHORE CHART used for Kitty cut @ 3 1/2".

Ribbon from Pebbles - Spring Green.

Make a card for Valentine's Day using

any cartridges or colors you'd like.

Here is my Valentine card for this challenge:

Project #25 of this year

A2 size card (5 1/2" x 4 1/4")

Most of the cards I make are "tent" fold style.

I take an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of cardstock;

cut it down the middle at 4 1/4";

turn strip of paper horizontal;

score and fold at 5 1/2". Voila!

Pink and Green gingham papers from Hobby Lobby's

Paper Studio stack called Fairytale Princess with Glitter 12" x 12" stack.

Buttons & Dew Drops from Michael's.

Black gingham ribbon from Michael's also. I'm sad now because that was the rest of my black gingham ribbon. :( I guess it's time to go shopping. :)

MICKEY & FRIENDS for rose cut @ 3" with Shadow feature from p. 109.

Now, I know I said the rose was on page 109 and in the above picture it says page 55. I don't know why some manuals have different page numbering. But at least you see the page, so you can easily find it in your manual no matter what the actual page number says in your book.

The border punch is made using Fiskars' "Treading Water" punch. This is one of my most favorite punches!

The rose is adhered using foam squares.

Buttons and Dew Drops adhered with Glue Dots!

Black background paper cut @ 5 1/4" x 4".

Green gingham paper cut @ 5" x 3 3/4".

Pink border punched paper cut @ 3 3/4" x 1 1/2".

BONNIE Accordion Mini Album

I want to show you the Accordion Mini Album I made using all pictures of our sweet BONNIE. There are no Cricut cuts on this album. I know.... surprising, isn't it? But the really cool thing about this album was that all the papers (except the black cardstock) are from the My Mind's Eye Bloom & Grow kit.

Items used from Recollections are: Black cardstock; rhinestones; & green and orange butterflies.The flowers and leaf are from Prima. The Blue Rhinestone hearts are from stash. The white bow with the pearl is from Creative Charms. All of the decorative elements are punch outs from the My Mind's Eye paper kit. I hope you enjoy looking at these pictures! This album is very sturdy since it's made from cardstock. It can stand on it's on anywhere there's a flat surface. You can fold it like a snake, stretch it out, fold it to look like a triangle... whatever. Here are the dimensions of the album itself...

12" x 12" cardstock cut into 4" strips. You will end up with 3 strips, but I only used 2 of them.
Lay the strip horizontally on your scoring board and score @ 5 1/2 for each strip.
Adhere the 2 strips together by completely covering one of the 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" sections on top of each other. So now instead of 2 strips equally 4 sections, you have 1 strip equaling 3 sections.
I matted each section with pattern paper cut 5 1/4" x 4". (Just like you would do for an A2 size card.)
Add photos, poems, stories, decorations as you feel inspired.

Yes, it was raining that day.

Green hill cut freehand.

Prima flowers and Recollections rhinestones.

MICKEY & FRIENDS for grass at mailbox p. 127 cut

@ 1 1/2" and trimmed for layering.

Mailboxes p. 119 cut @ 4" and 1" with Shadow feature.

Letters p. 105 cut twice @ 1/2" and once @ 1" with Shadow feature.

Sunshine from CREATE A CRITTER p. 52 cut @ 1 3/4".

Here's a little side not about the Sunshine cut in the Create A Critter cartridge.

You can clearly see on the manual sunshine image that it's suppose to have pink, round cheeks. When cutting this image it cuts out holes where the pink is suppose to shine through, just like it cuts out holes for the yes and mouth to show through as black from the previous layer. However, no where on this page does it provide the pink cheeks to cut. Hmmm.... Maybe I'm missing it. I ended up looking for another cut in this book with pink cheeks and cutting out their pink circles. I found if I cut the cheeks the same size as the sun (1 1/4"), then the pink cheek circles just feel through the holes on the sunshine's face. So I ended up cutting them at 2".

Here is a smaller scale take on the JOY FOLD card.

You'll need to cut 2 pieces of cardstock.

Cut one piece for the BASE at 6 1/4" x 4 1/4" and score @ 4 1/4".

Cut one piece at 6" x 3" and score @ 3".

You can then cut your mat sizes at any size. I left about 1/4" of border between mat sizes on this card.

The stickers are puffy and are from the Dollar General Store in a huge pack for $1.00. Lots of fun stickers in this pack.

A2 size card ( 5 1/2" x 4 1/4")

Black cardstock for cardbase from Recollections.

Background Blue paper from Echo Park "Country Drive".

Blue paper was cut @ 5 1/4" x 4" and run through the Cuttlebug using the Divine Swirl folder. After it was embossed, I ran a small Colorbox Chalk Blue ink back and forth on top of the paper to help the swirls stand out a little with the darker blue ink.

PLAINTIN SCHOOL BOOK for grass cut @ 1 1/2" and 2" in different shades of green and then trimmed length to fit width of card.

LIVE SIMPLY for Bunny cut @ 3 1/2" using papers from Target's Dollar Bin.

Flowers from Prima.

Rhinestone from Recollections.

CREATE A CRITTER used for sunshine cut @ 1 3/4".

Sentiment stamp from Joy's Life "Wild Life Puns". This is an awesome set! I can't wait to use more of these stamps on other cards.

The mushrooms are cut out of extra paper, inked around the edges with brown Colorbox chalk ink, and then foam taped for dimension.

Can you believe this is a Cricut-LESS card? I know! Shocking!

A2 size card ( 5 1/2" x 4 1/4")

Green card base from Recollections.

Orange mat cut @ 5 1/4" x 4" from MyMomento embossed pad.

Green mat cut @ 5" x 3 3/4" from K&Co. Ancestry.com Pad.

I used my crimper tool to crimp about 2 1/2" of the bottom of the green mat.

Each mat, the card base, and the tag are all edged with Cat's Eye brown ink. I also inked the crimped bottom of the green paper just to show a little more of the dimension to it.

The lace is actually from a THINK PINK Blog Hop Candy I won 2 years ago. This is the last of that lace. It's so pretty. I'm sad It's all gone now. :(

(Now is a good time to remind you of your "monthly checking of the girls" now that we've mentioned THINK PINK.)

The tag is from a little tag booklet from K&Co. with assorted tags in it.

The gorgeous brad is from Creative Charms, "Vintage Brads".

And the awesome sentiment stamp is a wood mounted rubber stamp I got years ago at Michael's. I still love it. It says:

We do not remember days, we remember moments. CESARE PAVESE

That's it! Very simple, but I love the style, look and feel of this card.

The book is called SHOWDOWN IN MUDBUG by Jana DeLeon, and it's the 3rd in the Ghost-In-Law Series. I also happen to think it was Fantastic!

I was pretty tickled with how it came out!

Here's what I wrote on the back: (Ignore the next tag showing the girl. It's just one I pre-made that I'll use at some point this year & has nothing to do with this week's tag.)

The details of how I made this tag are as follows:

DOODLECHARMS used for the Crystal Ball p. 84 cut @ 3".

I used the Multi-cut feature for this glitter paper since it's really thick.

CAMPIN' CRITTERS for frog p. 64 (Badge Feature).

The frog in the crystal ball was cut @ 1 1/2" using Real Dial Size.

The frog on the back with the description I wrote was cut @ 1 1/2" NOT with Real Dial Size.

Tag cut using ELEGANT EDGES "Swirl 2" on page 39 cut @ 4 1/2" using the Oblong and Shadow features.

Background paper from Recollections "All Girl" stack.

Good afternoon all my bloggy friends!

Our daughter, Bonnie, is taking an afternoon nap. Poor darling has pneumonia, but she's been on meds all week, and we can tell she is feeling much better.

This is my second post today, so scroll down to see my Hello Kitty card on the previous post below. :)

Project #19 of this year

The above card is made especially for my friend, Pam, and her friend, Glora's, challenge blog, SIMPLY CRAFTS.

This is for their January Challenge. Want to play along? Here are the details (copied from their blog post):

This weeks challenge is the cupcake cut w/ the heart on it from the Sweet Treats Cricut cartridge. If you don't have this cartridge you can make any project w/ a cupcake on it.

So here are the details for my card I made for their challenge:

Black cardstock for card base from Recollections.

A2 size card (5 1/2" x 4 1/4").

I take an 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of card stock and cut it down the middle at 4 1/4" so that I'll have 2 long strips of cardstock. I then turn the long strip horizontal and score it at 5 1/2" for the fold. The above card is folded at the top. I think this is called a "tent fold". 99% of my cards are cut and folded this way.

Cupcake from SWEET TREATS cartridge p. 28 cut

@ 3 1/2" and added Shadow Feature.

"Sweet!" stamp from Cardz TV Stamps "Make A Wish" set.

"Love" stamp from Cardz TV Stamps "Encouraging Thoughts" set.

Buttons & Gingham ribbon for bow from Joann's.

Silver & Red solid glitter paper from DCWV Glitter Stack.

Background black, white, and silver glitter paper from DCWV also. It's cut @ 5 1/4" x 4". I just took my 1" circle punch and cut the corners of the background mat and the red "ticket" sentiment mat.

Red "ticket" cut paper that has the sentiment on it is from The Paper Studio.

I thought this turned out really pretty. I'll either write on the inside with my white gel pen or mat the inside with white cardstock before writing my message with a black or red pen.

I also want to stress to you that until I got my Xyron, I honestly did not like piecing cuts together from this cart. I would use my 2 Way Glue pen (which works well), but I would end up sticky all over my hands. My friend, Lynn of Boots and Bling Time, kept telling me to get a Xyron.... and I kept putting it off not wanting to spend the money since I could just use my 2 Way Glue pen.

Since I started using my Xyron for small cuts, I am so enjoying this cartridge again (as well as many others). I love my Xyron! I have the 1.5" sticker maker one. I would love to eventually get a larger one too for larger cuts.

So what scrapping tool do you love using lately?

Happy New Year!

Thank you all for your encouraging comments and prayers while we were traveling from Alaska to South Carolina. We made it. Whew! It took 9 days, 3 flat tires, and various other delays, but we made it safe and sound. I'll be posting about it on our travel blog CarolinaToAlaska.blogspot.com as I have time. So pop over there now and then to see some fun videos, pictures, and read some stories of our adventures. There is one video I want to share with you now though. This is my favorite one from our trip. You'll hear my hubbub talking and me in the background. Please notice there were EIGHT of them! We think they were looking for Rudolph. LOL This was filmed on December 16, 2011, during our trip. It was so cool.

I made today's card with our special needs daughter, Bonnie, in mind. She just love horses! Okay, this is really a unicorn, but to her it's still a horse.

Not the kind of Christmas card you were probably expecting today, huh? :)

In my life, today represents the birth of Jesus Christ here on earth. Now whether He was actually born on this exact day or not is not really the important issue to me. To me it's just the day we happen to pick on the calendar to remember that He left His home in heaven, to come live with us on earth for a while. I think a cupcake card was in order here. LOL

This post was pre-scheduled on November 30 to post for today. We actually left Alaska on December 15th to move (driving all the way towing a small UHaul trailer) back to South Carolina where most of our family lives. I'm hoping as I write this today (on Nov. 30th), that by the time you read this post live, we have safely arrived in South Carolina. As soon as we get settled somewhere and have internet hooked up, I'll pop on here and post a note that we made it safe & sound!
