Let's Learn Something New

A while back a very generous friend of mine sent me her Spectrum Noir markers when she switched to using another brand. I tried coloring then and failed miserably at it. I think part of the problem was the cheap paper I was using, and of course the rest was just me not having a clue what I was doing.

Yesterday I decided to try it again. There are so many adorable stamp sets out there that have cute images mixed with sentiments these days. After trying the blending thing, I made an executive decision that blending is not for me. But coloring without blending seemed to go okay. A few times I was a little heavy handed and went outside the lines, but good grief, if we wanted perfection we'd buy it from a store, right?

Here's my coloring session yesterday.

I didn't notice until just now that on the photo above one of the hearts is turned over and you're seeing the back of it. LOL Looking forward to making some projects with these little cute images soon. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Hugs!

Enjoy the rest of your day.

  1. I tried coloring too. Wasn't into either as I prefer to make my own die cuts!

  2. Your coloring looks great. I have no idea how to blend either and I am afraid to start collecting markers because it could get too costly.

  5. I think your coloring looks wonderful Janis! My blending stinks! LOL But I'm okay with that! I'm not a huge fan of coloring, but don't mind doing it every once in awhile... The best thing for coloring is GOOD QUALITY PAPER/CARDSTOCK! :) I have the entire Spectrum Noir collection and only use the Spectrum Noir Ultra cardstock - I buy mine from Amazon of course! ;) My hubby is using my SN markers as well.... My sister is letting me borrow her entire collection of Copic markers... which has been fun to play with... after using SN markers... using copics seems to be a learning curve for me... but I still like my SN better... most people would disagree with me.. but they are both great quality markers and SN are cheaper which is a bonus in my book! LOVE the sweet images... Have a great day! :)
