Flower Layered Card

Hi, everyone! Today I have a multi-layered flower card to share with you using my Cricut.

Cricut Card

Silver & Gold Sequins
Pebbles, Garden Party, 6x6 pattern paper pad

To create the front layered mats, my friend, Kimberly, had to help me figure out how to do this in the Cricut Design Space. I pulled in 2 additional card bases and re-sized them a bit smaller, then cut a little below the score line since I only needed the front of the card portion, layered and adhered. If anyone knows how I can cut or slice just the piece below the score line instead of cutting out the entire card base, please let me know. There are things I know how to do with the Silhouette that I have not learned how to do in Cricut Design space yet.

Sentiment on inside is from Pink & Main, Believe Script stamp set.

I love how the Cricut handles layers. Everything just lays on top of each other and fits where it's suppose to instead of adding bits and pieces of tiny cuts.

Not all Cricut cuts end up this thick, but every now and then it is fun to have what feels like a chipboard cut when you are finished.

The envelope that came with this Make It Now project is created more like a box envelope to handle the thickness of this card, so no worries there.

Thanks for stopping by today!
See you tomorrow.

  4. Janis-this is just beautiful!!!!!! I too love the feel of a nice thick embellishment! I haven't used design space, so I have no advice on how to cut just the part you want, but maybe someone else will. Glad you joined our BBTB2 challenge this week!

  6. Janis, I love your card. I do know how to just cut the scallop part of the card base. You have to use Slice. Once you sized the card base to what your finished card will be, make a copy of the card base and Detach the score line from the copy, delete it. Now bring in a square and size it so it covers the top half of the card base (from the now imaginary score line going up). Be sure the square is on top of the base, highlight both and click Slice. When you remove all the pieces you're left with jut the scallop portion. Now you can resize it to fit on your card base as your green layer, then duplicate it and resize it smaller for what will be your printed top layer. I'm at cosci_us@yahoo.com if you have any questions.

  7. What a wonderful and beautiful card. I see that Design Space has several versions of cards and layouts with these flower themes (I used this same theme this week). I too could not believe the number of layers, actually I thought it was too much, but it did make it easy to put together and looks very thick. I will have to try making your version - it's so pretty and I know it will be for someone very special. thanks for joining our BBTB2 challenge this week.
