Cut It Up - Breast Cancer Awareness in 3D

Happy Friday! It's that time of year when we women start reminding each other to get the girls checked by a medical professional and even better with a mammogram. There is a brand new challenge up at CUT IT UP and the theme is Breast Cancer Awareness in 3D. All you have to do is create a project that includes a 3D element promoting Breast Cancer Awareness and 3D mammography.  As always, use a DIE CUT.

Some examples would be:
  • a card that becomes 3D
  • a 3D card such as an easel card, side-step card, or tri-step card
  • a pop-up element on the inside
  • etc.

I've lost friends to Breast Cancer and have had friends and family members battle this war and become survivors. It's important to be familiar with your body and seek medical advice if you notice any changes. Better to have it turn out to be nothing, than find out later it was something but you were too embarrassed or too busy to seek medical attention.

For more information on treatment, self exams, types of Breast Cancer, etc, you may enjoy visiting the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.

Here's my project....

I used Craftin Desert Divas - Be Inspired

You can buy this stamp set HERE.
  • Silhouette ID# 64936 (treat container)
    • I closed up the top a little differently than the cut was designed, but it allowed the front to stay straight instead of rounded which worked better for my die cut elements
  • Silhouette ID# 46705 (Fighting Breast Cancer Bear)
  • Craftin Desert Divas stamp set - Be Inspired (inked in brown)
  • Solid papers - Bazzill
  • Pattern paper - DCWV Handy Dandy 180 stack
  • Foam squares to adhere bear
  • buttons from stash
  • Timeless Twine - Raspberry Pink, Tuxedo Black
  • Black tulle (Amazon)

  • Close up of this powerful message
    • Craftin Desert Divas stamp set - Be Inspired (inked in brown)

  • I tied the black tulle in a bow on top and put some on the inside of the treat box along with some candy :)

Check out what the other Design Team Members came up with for this challenge at Cut It Up, then be inspired yourself. You have until Oct 1st to link up. Be sure and check out the Cut It Up sponsors and prizes too!

Thanks for stopping by today to see what I'm up to.
:) Janis

  1. Fabulous project Janis, and you are so right about your message. My mother is a breast cancer survivor and I make sure to have a mammogram every year!!
