Spooky (Guest Designing for Pink and Main)

Hi, crafters!

I'm thrilled to be Guest Designing for
this month. How cool is that?

Today I have a Haunted House treat box to show you using these amazing stamps.

I did some tweaking to the cut in the Silhouette Software.
Here is a short tutorial of how I altered it a tad to fit my needs.

First, I cut the house away from the box with the knife.

Second, I highlighted the house, right clicked, and chose "Release Compound Path."
This will allow me to move the house away from the windows.
Since I'll be cutting this piece in yellow, I don't want the windows to cut out.
This yellow piece will be adhered to the back of the house for the appearance that lights are on inside the house.

Lastly, I chose a label (I thought it sort of looked like the Batman symbol), sized it to fit on my box front, then created an internal shadow for it. The original shape will be cut out in orange, while the internal shadow will be cut out in white for stamping my sentiment onto.

  • Pink & Main "Smell My Feet" stamp set
  • Silhouette ID# 48949 (Lori Whitlock Haunted House Treat Box)
  • Silhouette ID# 44045 (set of 12 labels)
  • Timeless Twine "Purple Passion"
  • Bazzill cardstock
Be sure to hop over to Pink and Main for some fun shopping!
See you tomorrow.
:) Janis
