Twine Spool Boxes (love this!)

Hi, Crafters!
I found the coolest cut file in the Silhouette store.
It's by Jamie Lane and she has a photo tutorial of how to assemble it on her blog here

It's set up to store the boxes so the hole is at the bottom for pulling out the twine you need for your project. That's how I cut my pattern paper for this project.

However, I find for my personal use, it works better to store the boxes with the hole at the top because I have them in baskets on my desk. The hole at the top makes grabbing the twine much easier since they are in baskets. It also means I cut all my papers upside down, but oh well. In this case function over presentation rules. I also cut an extra piece to cover the top (which is really the bottom).

For the twine I buy by the yard (instead of by the spool), I just wrap it around a jumbo Popsicle stick. I used to wrap it around a clothespin, but found this to be bulky. I hold the ends to the Popsicle stick with Washi tape.

  • Silhouette ID# 46239 (twine storage box)
  • Assembly tutorial by Jamie Lane here
  • Bazzill white cardstock (base)
  • All pattern papers from GCD Studios (Fun House) from Hobby Lobby
  • Scor Tape
  • Clear plastic sheets for see-through window from recycled clear stamp packaging (I was able to cut out 6 of these windows with only 1 clear stamp packaging!)

I still need to write the names of the twine on the top of the boxes for easy reference.  All of the twines you see are from Timeless Twine (love this stuff!).

New Home CAS card (and LEGOS!)

Hi, Crafters!
Today I am attempting (as I do on occasion)
to create a CAS (clean and simple) card.

CAS definition:
One main image / focal point
Lots of white space
Minimal embellishments

  • Silhouette ID# 60552
  • Mark's Finest Stamps "Tweet That"
  • Ribbon & Button from Walmart
  • Thread from American Crafts
  • Papers from Bazzill

Our niece is purchasing her first home this summer.
How exciting! We are going to miss her House Warming party,
but will mail her out this card with a Gift Card to Lowe's.

In other news...........

I finished my Lego building, the Cinema Palace!
Got up a little after 4am on Thursday morning, and started the building the roof  for it around 6am. A few hours later I added it to the other 2 floors I had already completed a while back and voila! 'Tis done.
I love these Lego buildings.

SOUS: Food or Beverage

A new Die Cut challenge starts today
over at Stuck On U Sketches!
I hope you'll join us for this die cut challenge.
Create any type of project
you would like using our theme,
Food or Beverage.

You can link up your project HERE

I chose to use this cute little Ice Cream Cart
3D project from the Silhouette Online Store.

  • I followed the assembly instructions (with lots of photos) HERE
  • All solid papers are Bazzill textured cardstock
  • Everything adhered together with liquid glue
  • The eye was colored in with a black pen
I'm thinking about maybe swapping out the
ice cream cone on the side with a peanut
or piece of popcorn for other
projects using this file.
How cute would that be?

Thanks for stopping by today to see what I'm up to.

Birthday Boy Dump Truck Shaped Card

Good morning!
Did you have a great weekend? We did. Tom got a lot done on the house construction with help from a couple of great guys. Still a lot of work to be done, but it's coming along nicely even with the weekend rain showers.

Today I have a Dump Truck shaped card for a birthday boy to show you.
The wheels are adhered with brads, so they turn. Fun!
And the dump part of the truck is also adhered with a brad so it can be moved up and down to dump and reload a haul. There is a little tap under the dump bed to stop it from swinging down to the tires.

I found this shaped card in the Silhouette store, and it included a link to an assembly tutorial. I love it when cuts include tutorial links!

  • Silhouette ID# 59500
  • Cardz TV Stamps "Make a Wish"
  • Assembly Tutorial here
  • Tiny Silver brads from Stampin' Up
  • Papers from Bazzill and K&Co.

Hi, Crafters!
I have a groovy tag to share with you today.
