Love to Read!

Hello all my bloggy and crafty friends! I'll have a craft post up a little later on this morning, but I did want to spend a little time just chatting with you all.

You know I love to read. I keep the current book I'm reading and the one I've recently finished on my sidebar if you are ever curious to see what's on my nightstand with a page bookmarked.

I love Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse series. My friend, Lynn of Boots and Bling Time, introduced me to this series a year or so ago. I read a couple of them and then put them down to read a few other things. But I went back to getting caught up with them last year.

It's fun to read a series that already has several published so you don't have to wait months for the next one. I did that with the Twilight series. I started reading it after most people, but I got caught up in time that when I finished the current latest one, I was just like everybody else waiting on pins and needles for the last in the series to be released so I could devour it.

My husband, Tom, and I also have read the Harry Potter series the same way. Bought the first few and shared reading them and then as each book came out, we read those too. When the last book was released, we were at Walmart to grab it before they sold out. And we bought 2 of them so that we could each read at the same time without waiting on the other to hand over the book. LOL

So.....  back to the Sookie Stackhouse series....... I love these books. I love the wide variety of characters and lifestyles and how their paths cross and intersect with each other. Again, I was sitting on pins and needles waiting for May 7th for the next one to be released. The next one, and sadly, the last one in this series.

It was fantastic! I started it on Saturday during our day road trip to Virginia and finished it last night. Now my problem  is... what series can I read next that will be just as good?

What are you reading?

One more thing.......... thank you all so much for being so supportive during this new step in my life. I signed up to be a Stampin' Up demonstrator on May 9th, and you all have had nothing but nice and encouraging things to say to me. Thank you. It really does mean a lot to me.

I'm enjoying this so much! Back in the 90's I used to buy a lot of the Stampin' Up products (back when I was still a full-time working mama raising 4 kids with my husband.)

A few years back, I "retired" to stay home full-time with our special needs daughter, Bonnie. You guys hear me mention Bonnie now and then in my posts. She's such a blessing!

For the past 3 years I've been trying to figure out what could I do from home that would still help contribute to our budget. There are several things I've considered and thought, "yeah, I'll do that," but then didn't end up doing whatever it was because "it didn't feel right."  Then one of my friends, Raven of Love 4 Stamps, signed up with Stampin' Up. Immediately, I thought, "I wish I could do that. I love Stampin' Up goodies."   But I was apprehensive and a little on the scared side.  I spoke with my very best friends, daughters, and husband about it before I committed to go ahead and give it a try. There is a great promotion going on between now and May 30th for those who sign up. I thought, "Well, if this doesn't work out, at least I got a GREAT deal on some products I love and will use."

I'm so glad I signed up! I am loving this! Not only am I having fun using these products and being "in the know" for upcoming events, promotions, products, etc, but also, I've met some really fun, creative people already. I'm sure this is where I'm suppose to be. This "FEEL RIGHT."

I'd love to be your Stampin' Up demo gal.
I'd love to have you be a part of my Stampin' Up team!

  1. Right now I'm reading the Great Gatsby! The moving trailer looked great and since this is not one of the books I read in school, I thought I'd try a classic to jump off my summer reading. Next up is Starting Now by Debbie Macomber.
