Happy Birthday Mini Card

Hello all my bloggy and crafty friends! I hope you guys are having a fabulous week. The weather here has been extremely nice which always make you just feel better about life, doesn't it?  I'm excited because I signed up as a Stampin' Up Demonstrator last week, and my kit is suppose to arrive here tomorrow! Woo-Hoo! I hope UPS gets here early in the day so I can PLAY PLAY PLAY!  :)

I made a CAS (Clean and Simple) birthday card to show you today using some neutral colors. Don't worry, I'll use some bright pretty colors on more projects this week. Lately though I've been using more of the neutrals since I can swap them out for masculine cards farily easily. It's not as easy to do that with polka dots, lace and pinks.... :)

Here's My Project Recipe
Project Name
 Pennant Birthday

Stamp Sets:
  • #126447 Summer Silhouettes (stamping for pennant)
  • #122667 Little Friends (sentiment)
  • #127324 Serene Silhouettes (flowers / grass)
Ink:
  • #126976 Sahara Sand (pennant stamping and background technique explained below)
  • #126978 Soft Suede (sentiment and flowers grass)
Paper:
  • #102128 Chocolate Chip (matting cut @ 3 7/8" x 3 7/8" and pennants)
  • #121043 Sahara Sand (base cut @ 4" x 4")
  • #100730 Whisper White (top of card 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" and pennants)
Accessories:
  • #122634 Petite Pennants Builder Punch
Adhesives:
  • #104332 Snail Adhesive
Special Technique:
  • The top of the card has a custom background. Sahara Sand ink was dragged over the surface of the Whisper White cardstock to create a unique and unevenly inked background. I love how it turned out!
